I will try to do some pre-Ohio State game coverage. I don't think I will have a live blog, but I may be posting thoughts and photos of the pre-game. We will see what happens.

Is it a ban if there was already a rule that dogs werent allowed in there in the first place?
Yes, scout may or may not have had aide dog training, but if he wasnt being used as an aide dog, that's no more proper than a healthy grandson using grandpa's handicapped placard to park up close to the bar!!
They are already saying that Carty's going to ignore it and bring Scout to work with him anyways.
Maybe we should all take our dogs down there and demand entry.
Somehow, I think it's a stretch of the imagination to say that Scout impaired the safety & well being of the other employees - a big stretch. Ohio has a lust about overstating ominous threats to our safety. No, he's not supposed to be there, and no, it's not fair that Carty can bring his dog to work when other employees cannot - and it's not the end of the world if Scout has to stay home. I do kind of feel bad for Scout, if the alternative is he has to stay home alone now (and be all sad & lonely). But the same can be said of all other employees with pets. I guess the only up side to Carty bringing Scout to work with him is if the dog helps lower his blood pressure - dogs do that, they are very calming - and maybe that's what Carty needs. Tough call for me on this - ethically it's wrong for Carty to take his dog to work when no other employees can do so.
Just a thought here. The mayor demands that you the citizens don’t put your trash out before 7p, that you take the can back in before the next night and if you don’t do this you will be fined. Since I have a radio show should I expect that I can be exempt from this frivolous law because of who I am? Should the mayor be exempt from the laws of the Ohio Building Codes because of who he is? That really is the question. Forget the dog for a moment. Should the mayor be allowed to ignore any of the Builiding Codes he wishes to simply because he is mayor, can he carry a weapon in the building, smoke inside if he chose to, live in his office etc etc. It’s not about all of us at one time breaking a rule, it’s about an elected official knowingly flaunting the rules because of who he is. Tell that to the LiveCom people.
Eh, starling...I wouldn't worry too much about scout.
At least Carty can afford doggy daycare...Scout would probably have a better time romping w/other pooches all day than being cooped up at the Mayor's office. (Or being left in the car...lol)
If he cares as much about the dog's well being as he says, then he'll spring for the doggy daycare. :)

No, Fred, you should be tarred and feathered for who you are. Carty should be exempt from the Ohio Building Codes. He's mayor, see?
I hope Carty does ignore the whole thing and bring Scout to work. Scout is good for Carty's mental health, if nothing else.
You're wrong. If Carty needs an aid dog because of mental health issues, then he needs to setp down.
He's an elitist bastard who wants to bring his doggie to work with him and the fact that he's got Rinebold working to get this allowed is bullshit.
Difference here is that the Mayor has many more eyes watching his actions then he has inspectors watching us.
To bad the timing of the recall was off, not to blame the petitioners, but this seems to be more fodder for the Mayor's ejection from office if some so chose.

If Carty has brought Scout to work almost every day for a year (give or take), Why are they enforcing the rules now?
Seems that the media finally stepped in the poop.
The Mayor has been stonewalling on the request from the person responsible for the building...for the year.

"Mr. Sullivan said he’s been trying for nearly a year to get documentation justifying Scout’s role as an assistance pet. "
What I'd like to know, Mr Sullivan, why a Florida boy knew Scout had arthritis when Carty aquired him and you missed it?
I'm sure it would have made a difficult investigation, seeing many employees were bringing their non-assistance dogs into work and having minions tend to the pet's defication needs.
So now that this has gone on long enough, thanks to Brian Schwartz's procrastination with the paperwork Mr Sullivan is waiting for, that having a pet is acceptable within the confines of the facility.
And especially seeing that the local government isn't quite the senior entity to change the rules without remorse, I find it comical and obtuse that Carty would snub his nose at the provisions concerning the safety and welfare of all occupants in a State Facility in not only a blantant manner, but to have the audacity to have legislation created and passed to exempt Scout, who is just a dog, total access to the facility that they, the local guys, only use a small part of.
Oh that London trip was so worth it.
