Well, here we go.

We can partially thank our aggressive foreign policy for this fiasco. Oil is through the roof (check oil prices before the invasion of Iraq), the dollar is weaker due to profligate government spending, the trade imbalance, and fear of the future. Nobody knows what's down the road and nobody's minding the store. Hey, I'm a conservative, but these guys running the guv'mnt don't look live conservatives to me.

They have done exactly what they set out to do. Even if the Democrats wanted to start policies that cost money there is nothing left in the "kitty". It's all gone.

We'll only have money for the necessities: national defense, and infrastructure. It will be up to any Democrat who wins to decide if he wants to fund the older generation (Social Security, Medicare), or the younger one (schools, ADC). There might be an effort to fund universal health care, but someone will screw that up.

Hey, I'm a conservative, but these guys running the guv'mnt don't look live conservatives to me.

I'm in my thirties, but the Monkey McFlight Suite Gang who has been running the show are exactly what is considered a conservative these days.

How does the saying go?

Republicans run for election on the platform that government is incompetent and when they get elected, they prove it.

...yes, us conservatives can laugh...

But no, those running the show are NOT considered conservative these days...at least, not by conservatives. Interestingly, Libertarian Party membership is up about 18% and the number of voters who identify with NO political party is at an all-time high...clearly a reflection of dissatisfaction with members of a party who do not reflect the party's core values. (And this could apply to both sides of the aisle)
