Why don't you include the audio where you mention all those "stupid bloggers" and that we shouldn't doubt your financial expertise because your taxes are more than our entire income in a year.
Why don't you include that audio Troy?
My comment was not directed at bloggers in general but to the few who criticized my stance on the 3/4% tax and equated it with my financial ability. I do not think that I am better than someone because of my income. I am also not embarassed by it because I worked hard to get where I am today. Actually TPP I think most of you have something to offer with your commentary. I even try to take the concerns and questions some of you raise right to the individuals themselves. I've even given bloggers credit, which they deserve, on the air. I'm sorry I disappointed you with my comments but I was frustrated, no excuse though.
Oh, I missed it alright, just like I do everyday.
And will continue to miss it every day.
Intentionally.
People are stupid, because they disagree?
Wow.
That can't be good for ratings or can it?
No people are not stupid because they disagree. Again this had to do with the personal attacks. But it is stupid to say Troy must be a lousy financial advisor because he supported the 3/4% tax. Actually, my real support was for the police and firemen.
Mr. Neff,
You might be marginally efficient at investments, but your on-air interviewing techniques need a bit of polish. Most radio personalities I've listened to don't employ "uh huh,' " "okay," and "hmm" as replies to interviewees. Worst of all is when you have no sound to make and the interviewees on the other end of the phone connection feel compelled to say something, anything, to fill the dead air space. I'm not saying your radio show isn't relevant. What I am saying is that it would be tremendously improved if you just shut up entirely and gave the mayor and councilmembers their 10 minutes each every day, without interruption of your "uhs," "uh huhs," and your on-your-knees "oh no, thank you!" to elected officials when they thank you for having had the opportunity to talk nonstop on a local radio station whose dweeb host lacks any idea of how to ask, much less demand an answer for, a relevant question. But, I'm sorry, you had your picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone, er, sorry, I mean Toledo Free Press. That must mean you're famous, wise and full of insight. Or, um, hmmm, okay, umm, uh hmm.
Is that in contrast to Fred on WSPD who will let you speak 2 seconds before he cuts you off in a screaming rage. Thats' hardly demanding, that's rude. Whatever happened to intelligent and polite debates, arguments, and conversations.
Troy Neff provides a valuable resource to the community in allowing these politicians to actually speak. The more they speak, the more we get to TRULY start to understand their philosophies, before we think we already do, and then you can decide on your own, fairly, to disagree or agree. However, I will agree that Troy does cushion the question when he pretty much laughs at the questions he pulls from this blog to ask the interviewee. I asked a question as to Mark Sobczak as to why only 1/3 of the 3/4% goes to Police and Fire when it was marketed as the entire thing supporting police and fire. I truly did not know , yet, he laughed it off while asking the question as like it was a stupid question. I'm sorry, I'm a computer programmer for a living, not a financial analyst. I hear 3/4% is for police and fire, then only find out on my voting form 1/3 goes to police and fire, I don't understand the discrepancy but apparently I'm stupid for asking it!
He surely sugarcoats his interview's, you CAN BE PRESSING while also being polite.
TPP, I never thought your question was stupid. I do agree that their marketing of the tax is misleading. My goal is not to sugarcoat interviews but to have discussions and to try and be reasonable even with people that disagree with me.
But Neff's show is more of a talk show, as in simple questions asked, answers given and then move on.
Nothing further about some of the questions.
No investigative journalism and the intent of the show, does not appear to be more than friendly conversation.
Don, you must have missed my insightful interview with porn star Mary Carey. I dont think i Ummmmed once.
that he paid $10,000 to get his mug on the cover of the Free Press.
No wonder it's free.
your mug shows up out there.
