Meeting at Augsburg Lutheran Church, Sylvania Avenue, 6:30 p.m. March 15

Toledo, Ohio – Monday, March 15, will be an important date for the City of Toledo’s Library Village residents. On that date, construction crews are scheduled to begin work at as many as three locations along Berdan Avenue. This work will result in the separation of combined sanitary and storm-water sewers in the area.

This Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 5:30 p.m., WGTE Public Media will stream live the Toledo Public School Special Meeting on the Knowledge Stream Website ( http://www.knowledgestream.org ).

Citizens may attend the meeting virtually and have the opportunity to participate online by posting comments during the live event.

Mayor Bell to Serve as Honorary Chair

Mayor Michael P. Bell will join representatives of Toledo Sister Cities and Great Lakes Consortium to announce the Toledo Sister Cities International Festival at a press conference on Tuesday, February 23 at 10 a.m. in the Toledo Sister Cities offices.

Bell To Hold First State of the City, February 24th

Mayor Michael P. Bell will hold his first State of the City address at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in Nitchke Auditorium on the campus of the University of Toledo. The event is free and open to the public. There are no tickets required for admission and seating is available on a first come, first available basis. Capacity in the auditorium is 1,000 seats. Convenient free parking for the event is located in lots 19 and 20.

The first Social Media Breakfast-Toledo event of 2010 is set.

David Murray, Director of Social Web Communications for The Bivings Group of Washington D.C., will detail ethics and methodologies to enable businesses and organizations to realize value from their social media endeavors.

The Mayor and City Council will continue to address the 2010 City Budget at a series of working meetings that will also include members of the Mayor's Transition Team, the Citizens Special Investigation team, union leaders and department directors.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtyard at Cousino's Navy Bistro. Subsequent meetings are scheduled for February 17; February 24 and March 3. All meetings will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be held at the Bistro.

Toledo, Ohio. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church hosts its annual Chili Cook-Off to benefit the parish’s community outreach programs. There will be two awards for Best Chili: the People’s Choice and the Celebrity Judges’ Choice. This family-friendly event includes Game Night where participants can play card and board games.

The following letter was sent to our ex-Mayor. He never responded. This is an issue I hope all Toledoans would be concerned about. I called 911 about a crime and the Police never showed up!

I am hoping someone in this city will find out why the Police/Vice Squad did not show up.

I am writing in response to a 911 call I made the weekend of September 18-20th.
I called 911 to report a crime in progress here in the apartment building where I live.

Recently listening to 105 FM Toledo radio I caught 3 hours on a Saturday of Taylor KIA and The Appliance Center of Maumee on a mutual promotion together. Immediately I thought of all the people I know who buy from the Appliance Center. Most of these people look to buy local and many are union auto workers who could easily buy from the big box Best Buy.So why is the Appliance Center of Maumee promoting foreign KIA cars that employ minimal people in Toledo? Does the owner know loyalty starts at home?
