I was faxed a copy of the police report. There are some interesting details in here about steamy windows and a belt. I will tell you a story if I have time later tonight about my run in with the UT police in 2000 and you can compare and contrast situations.

In 2000 my wife and I decided to go enjoy an evening and the great weather at UT. We went up to the top of the parking garage and had a tailgate party and sat and watched the sun. Well the UT Police stopped by asked us what we were doing. We said we were enjoying the evening up here just looking out. The officer asked for ID and we gave it to them, they ran the check everything came out ok. He said it was nice weather but it was not a good idea to be there. So we left and that was that. There were no steamy windows and belts. The police officer was doing his job and he was really friendly throughout the whole conversation and that was that.

If you're just pulling over to get a pen (as one news article said) and/or because the driver was distracted by the passenger's cell phone conversation, why do you need to stop for about 30 minutes (according to the police report) and completely turn off the engine and lights? Are we supposed to believe there wasn't any nookie going on?
Cripes...if he hadn't been a jerk and refused to show his ID to the UT cops, this wouldn't even be a big deal. They just would have told him to move along...there wouldn't even have been a police report filed.
(At least, that's happened when the Toledo police caught my husband and I in a compromising position late one evening a few years ago. lol )
Also, when I was a freshman during orientation the UT officials warned us that the UT police are fully deputized and can pull you over for any infraction a city officer can do.
They are effectively state police, and have authority in the entire state of Ohio. The old MCO cops (now part of UT) are the same way.
but I think your fax machine needs to have the toner shaken, it seems to have slipped to the left side.
thank you

And I have to say: What a crock of shit this Stainbrook is.
What happened? Anyone reading the report can conclude that Stainbrook was getting his dick sucked and panicked when he was caught. Oh no! We can't have the great and powerful Stainbrook caught doing the nasty! So he played TOUGH GUY with a state cop.
We know what happened next. End of story.
I hope he plays the same tough guy routine with the judge. That ought to be be even more amusing. "[C]ould not see the uniform" ... what a crock of fucking shit. What the hell is wrong with this town that people like that end up in places of political influence?
as the saying goes--
It's not who you know, it's who you ****
I have been a long time local Republican supporter up until last year. I sat back and thought long and hard about what I believed. I chose to go with what I believed. I believe in strong conservative beliefs. This is something that has been missing from the local party leadership for a long time now. I chose to support John and still do. (Please do not stop reading yet!) This whole "scandal" with the UT police and John not giving up his ID. I probably would have done the same thing. The reason being is until today, I thought that the UT police only had jurisdiction on the campus and surrounding streets. I was would probably not have been aware that the building he was parked at would have been UT property. (I am not condoning the comments he made and I am disappointed in those comments). Now knowing that there was a street lamp right above the car and hearing the statements made by all parties, I personally think that there was nothing sexual going on in the vehicle. All of this being said, I do still believe in John and believe he could still be a great chairman. Everyone deserves a second chance, and with the number of chances that we have already given our current local republican leaders, I think we all owe it to John. Have a great day and enjoy ripping me a new one on here!!
I don't know how you could think there was nothing sexual going on in the vehicle...they stated that they had been stopped for "about 30 minutes," the windows were foggy, belt buckles were undone. Sounds like hanky panky to me.
(Not that I'm condemning him for the hanky panky...I'd be a hypocrite if I did. Just think he was foolish for giving the cop attitude, as it turned this into a publicized incident when it didn't have to be.)
I personally think that there was nothing sexual going on in the vehicle.
Your thoughts about his belt buckle being undone?
he just finished eating a large meal and was expanding the waistline of his trousers. Not likely but maybe. __________________________________________
