Did The Math, $3K Not Enough For Me

I've decided to go back to UT this Fall. I should have my 3k check for contraceptives by then. I'm going to use the "traditional rubber" method. But, even if I buy them by the gross, to get more "bang for my buck", it won't be enough. I'm going to College to engage in the active, vigorous and voluminous sex life I'm entitled to, and maybe even learn something if I have any free time. But I;m going to need a place to use my rubbers at, when I hook up. As far as I'm concerned, I'm entitled to a nice hotel room to take my girlfriend(s) to. So that means another check.

Pardon The Interruption

Has our society completely forgotten the common courtesy of not interrupting others? How many times are you being waited on in a store and someone walks up with "a quick question," and then the teller stops ringing up your order and starts helping the rude interrupter? Or, just being in a conversation with someone else and someone just comes up and starts talking to the person like you're invisible about a topic that has nothing to do with the conversation? Anyone else have some examples?

$4 per gallon will usher in new worse crash of economy

My contention has always been that the crash of 2008 (which actually began in 2002) was due more to $4 per gallon gasoline than housing. Do you drive your car to work or do you pay your mortgage?

Well, we are on the verge of anothe $4 per gallon year. It will destroy our economy for good.

The Blade & the courthouse

I have a theory that having the Seneca county courthouse on the front page of the Blade every day is the result of a Trading Places style bet that Block made; "I will bet the sum of $1 that I can prevent demolition of an expensive old building of little historical value."

Just had the "opportunity" to listen in to the Brian Wilson show. Brian was noticably missing. Before you get started on my not having the wherewithal to or knowledge on how to change the station, just so you know 1370 AM is very entertaining to me and also very educational to whoever else is in my vehicle (usually a child). Whenever I am driving, I am drawn to the station, something like passing an accident and your eyes just naturally look. Today, (while I was listening) the subject matter, was just plain irrational and unbelievable.

To Christian Conservatives who have fallen by the wayside.....

As we come into this holiday week, a week full of retrospection and what should be a reflecting back over this last year full of Christian conservative rhetoric, I want to offer this song by Lionel Ritchie and the Commodores and ask the question.......WWJD today?

What is Wrong with Rush Bimbaugh, I mean.......Limbaugh?

Today I was listening to Rush Bimbaugh and he was talking to a 32 year old "long time listener, first time caller." He was explaining that Mitt or Newt was a populist and then started to explain what that meant. Then out of the blue he said, "blueberry tea" and went on a diatribe about the taste of blueberry tea. I thought he was going to tie blueberry tea to a populist presidential candidate. But he didn't, just talked off handidly about blueberry tea? The he started talking about something else that had nothing to do with blueberry tea or a populist presidential candidate.

The Republican Party and Cannalbalism

H-I=L=A=R=I=O=U=S! Nothing and I mean Nothing has been more entertaining than watching the Republicans cannalbalize each other! Mitt bites off Newt's head, Rick "oops" Perry takes a leg off of the Donald and dines on that. Bachman takes a bite off of everybody cause she is just plain nuts! Hermain "999" Cain just disappeared, body missing! Everybody hates Ron Paul all of a sudden and bites his legs off from under him.
Sarah, oh Sarah where for art thou?

"The US Republican race is dominated by ignorance, lies and scandals. The current crop of candidates have shown such a basic lack of knowledge that they make George W. Bush look like Einstein. The Grand Old Party is ruining the entire country's reputation."

Tea Party Backers May Be Having Second Thoughts

Buyer's Remorse
Tom Israel
It looks like voters across the country are having second thoughts about the tea party agenda, now that they have seen what it actually means in practice.
The latest local and state elections results suggest that voters have second thoughts about the tea party's political agenda. Consider the following:

1) In Ohio, unions scored a victory.

2) In Mississippi, reproductive rights prevailed.

3) In Arizona, immigrant rights prevailed.

4) In Maine, voters nixed vote-suppression bill.

"Liberals love to call themselves compassionate. So why is it their ideas so often end up with catastrophic results on the people they're intended to help"?

1. The War on Poverty
"Hatched by social engineers who cooked up President Lyndon Johnson’s "Great Society," the War on Poverty spawned a welfare mentality that has trapped the poor in a web of dependency, spent $16 trillion—without making a dent in the poverty rate—and will burn through another $10.3 trillion over the next 10 years.
Throwing good money after bad: It just doesn’t make sense.

Could this be possible or is it a conspiracy theory. Libya connection, used to forge an "event" Obama needs to declare martial law, suspend the courts, Congress and the Constitution. Mobilizes the armed forces for "safety of the public." A test to shut down all communications. A 3 1/2 minute shut down test????

A glimpse of OWS you won't see everywhere.

Well gosh darn, this guy doesn't look like a dirty hippie at all!
Notice how he points out that when the wealthy reach the upper tax levels they start to invest back into their businesses, thus reducing their tax burden. When the rates were higher it created incentive to reinvest. We have the opposite situation now.
