Why Obama and the Dems won't give up on "health care reform"

Any health care bill from Obama is a civil rights bill, that's all it is. It has nothing to do with health care but all to do with the over 100 new government agencies that will be created. Over 100 new agencies filled with union jobs that equate to imcompetence. Also in the bills are quota systems for all medical schools.

Obama's policies reflect who he is; they are the vehicles that masquerade as hope and change, which are the mechanisms for social justice and economic justice -- "meaningful legislation" through wealth redistribution. And now, through health care "reform," Obama will attempt to finish the job of applying positive liberties (what the government can do for you), ultimately attempting to forsake the Constitution, which is a charter of negative liberties (what the government cannot do to you), to apply the final judgment of the Civil Rights movement.

The Extreme Radio Foghorn Leghorn Talk Show Host

The afternoon Toledo AM radio entertainer has found his nitche. I find the similarities in these two characters truly frightening!

Mad Jack's Shack

The following is a public service announcement, courtesy of Chris.

After a few minutes of agonizing over my morning Bourbon I decided to start my own Blog, just to see what happens. If you're bored or curious, point your browser at Mad Jack's Shack and be amused for a while.

My thanks to Chris for the advertisement.

Unionized Toyota?

Some thoughts as "Toyota week" kicks off on Capitol Hill:

How did we become a nation of such angry people?

Are the recent actions of Amy Bishop and Andrew Slack a sign of the times or are they an aberration and no cause for alarm?

The life situations of both individuals were markedly similar. One was unemployed and one was scheduled for unemployment in the very near future. Both felt persecuted and took out their anger on innocent people. One shot and killed three colleagues and injuring more, the other flew his airplane into a building killing an employee and himself while injuring scores of others.

Where's the Toyota threads?

Just curious why we haven't seen a posting on Toyota's terrorist plot to kill Americans.

You wouldn't know it, but this isn't the first recall ever.

But I have a question - The federal government as well as GM are piling on. UAW is in on it too.

Is it because of the seriousness of the issue and GM wants Toyota's customers, or has this crossed the line into nationalism with shades of jingoism because Toyota is a foreign company?

Government’s successes exceed its failures

Letter-to-the-Editor Monroe Evening News (Feb 13)
Government’s successes exceed its failures
A new Rasmussen Reports survey shows that 45 percent of people are very angry at the government. One long-standing complaint is that government can’t do things right.

Freedom......a price too high?

" The cloak of freedom is saturated in the blood of Patriots".

I have been pondering this for most of the day. At what point would the typical American of today be willing to give up all he had and all he will ever have or know for an idea, a belief of freedom. Would they rise to the challenge of securing the hopes and dreams of their fore fathers, for their own prodigy? Would their apathy lead them into the chains of socialism? At what point were our Revolutionary Patriots of our nations birth committed to their cause?

What is the real issue?

Is it a black /white issue, is it a male/female issue, is it a liberal /conservative issue, is it a Republican/ Democrat issue or is it really a black male president issue, that is causing the rabid, frenzy of provocative prose coming from the right AND left against President Barack Obama? Is racism so deeply rooted in American's culture that some are losing perspective as to what the issues really are?

Did white America have a "Kumbaya" moment on November 5, 2008 only to wake up on January 22, 2009 with a black man as president and say, "oh, hell to the naw?"

Republican House Conference

The Republican House Conference recently held in Baltimore, was a human chess game. President Barack Obama scored a checkmate! No speeches, no teleprompter, no notes just one brilliant man, proving point after point after point. The republicans underestimated the president when they agreed to have the conference televised. As he stated when proposing to put the earmarks online before a vote is taken, "sunshine is the best disinfectant."

Toledo Public School Board Meeting-Transparency Where?

I witnessed the Toledo Public School Board of Education meeting tonight and it was a barrel of laughs, around the "horseshoe" many concerns by myself and other spectators and maybe violations of the sunshine laws, by the board members. But then what do you expect, that was how Three for Children was born, Larry Sykes (he's baacck), Deborah Barnett and Steve Steel.

Two stories I am not shocked to hear

1. Jon Stainbrook is violating a court agreement and refusing to sell Lincoln Day tickets to some Republicans he does not like (as heard on WSPD).
2. TPS has a 30 million dollar deficit. TPS has no fiscal controls, basically when the pot is dry they come back with a levy. They could care less about money, note 650k+ was stolen under everyone's nose, no one batted an eye. Get used to it until there are some real board members on the TPS board. It is nothing but a playpen for everyone currently on there.

Why Free Trade Is Failing America
http://www.axcessnews.com/index.php/articles/show/id/19214
By Peter Morici
(AXcess News) Baltimore, MD - No economic policy could better serve Americans than genuine free trade but open trade policies are failing Americans.
Free trade is a compelling idea. Let each nation do more of what it does best, and specialization will raise productivity and incomes.

THE RIDDLE HAS BEEN SOLVED BUT WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG?

Why did it take so long to expose Steve Riddle as a person of unsavory character? There were numerous signs, warnings and charges filed against him and staff members at Leverette who were preying on not only the children but women also.

Don Burnard Toledo Free Press Locked and loaded (Dec 20th)

In my Dec. 6 column, I was discussing the grave situation we find ourselves in, what with two unwinnable, and, as far as I’m concerned, unjustifiable wars, an economy in shambles, double-digit unemployment and a decade of stagnant wages. So far, as is generally the case with politicians, their first concern has been to look out for the persons and institutions that played a huge part in getting us into this position. They, after all, by dint of their wealth, virtually control the political process.

South YMCA Coalition Craziness

Once again the South YMCA Coalition does it's best to shoot themselves in the foot. It really makes you wonder what these people really want and what their motives really are. Teresa Fedor comes out against the Y? please, this organization does more good for kids than any other place in Toledo. So Teresa you're going to throw your support around a coalition whose leader has court cases against him for non child support payments and not paying his taxes. Let's see how this gets you re-elected.
