Antisemitism is alive an well in America today

Some posters here have questioned whether or not antisemitism is really a problem in today's America for Jews. I am linking you to an article about a University of California course which has a clear antisemitic bias. Jews on campuses (and elsewhere) throughout America face psychological and physical threats every day in this country. Bigotry of any people can lead to the long-time scapegoats of bigots for at least 2000 years -- the Jews.

Far too many charter schools are terrible; Ohio's are among the very worst!

I am adding two disclaimers here. First of all, although the long-time President of the American Federation of Teachers, Albert Shanker, was a strong advocate of the value of charter schools, long before they became a reality, because most modern charter schools have morphed into giant sinkholes where taxpayer money disappears, the American Federation of Teachers opposes most of the current state and federal statutes governing current charter schools. And this video came to me via the American Federation of Teachers.

Why is the downtown (main) library a haven for the homeless?

I'm a frequent user of the downtown library, known as the Main Branch. I'd noticed that the homeless are frequent 'users' of that branch too, but not for what I was using the branch for.

I'd never seen a bedbug until I went to the main library one fine day about 6 months ago. And that made sense, considering the place is an absolute haven for the homeless. They have lots of comfy chairs which the homeless fill. You couldn't pay me enough money to sit in one of those chairs now.

Forrester's on the River: Why it's damned stupid to open a restaurant there.

On 2016 Jan 22 Fri 10 am, the contents of "Forrester's on the River" restaurant will be auctioned off as a total liquidation to satisfy debt. The auctioneer Pamela Rose Auction Company has posted [1] that the sale will be "down to the walls" [2] but there might be contention about that, regarding installations like the wooden bars and ventilation system.

Anyone here attend the big party last night in honor of the Hick?

Anyone here attend the the big party that some of the loyal Kool-aid drinkers gave for their
messiah Patrick "too familiar" Hickey" last night at Pat and Dandy's? It was a gala event.
Bumhower was there as well as assistant super Cherie Mourlam. The was a lot of hugging going on in between the tears of joy by his followers. They must of been congratulating him for beating the rap and making fools out of the BOE and the taxpayers. Mourlam, a Hick

Military budget eaten by health, benefit costs

Charles Lane: Military budget eaten by health, benefit costs
Read more:
" The CBO reported in January that the Defense Department’s health-care costs will rise from $49 billion in 2014 to $70 billion in 2028 (in inflation-adjusted dollars). That is an increase of about 40 percent in real terms; as a result, health care will account for 11 percent of the defense budget in 2028, up from an already astounding 9 percent today.

"Ohio homeowners and farmers are paying more in property taxes these days, but not just because schools have been asking for more money.

Stainbrook / Gallagher submitted 274 Central Committee petitions, none of the candidates collected their own signatures

Did Stainbrook and Gallagher recruit candidates whose only job is to vote for them at the next re-organization meeting?

Or, did they recruit Republican go-getters who will take on the job of a Central Committee members, working in their neighborhoods to build a strong foundation for the future of the party.
