"Ultimately people don't like more taxes, so responsible leaders should push for some form of Uuigov" Mr. McNamara said. "Otherwise, I see [Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner] going back to the voters for more taxes.

What are the predictions for this so-called Brain Trust?
Against my expectations, Konop at least showed some sense:
Toledo, the city - has begun to shepherd it's residents out of the city limits at record paces.
We have a public education system that is in dire straits and those who can afford to put their children in alternative educational resources are doing so. This means many are leaving Toledo.
Since many of the families are leaving Toledo, the business owners are relocating to the places that the workers are settling - and that ain't Toledo, folks.
Businesses and residents are fleeing Toledo like a house on fire. The tax base is shrinking. The tax payers are leaving Toledo.
Seems simple enough, doesn't it? IF we had a City Manager - this would be a great time to talk to the businesses that are still here, that have left as well as the residents. That person could open a dialogue about what is causing the TAX BASE TO SHRINK.
Or, irrationally, it seems that you could also take a predatory stance in this situation.
You could start taxing the public, illegally - without a ballot vote, for tax supported city services.
You could start getting rid of workers that provide the services to the city.
You could start selling off the assets that the people of Toledo own.
You could start looking at the smaller number of tax payers with the goal of 'how can I squeeze more out of YOU?'
Move to Wood County.
