Mayor Finkbeiner Insulted Blacks - Million Dollar Lawsuit

The Toledo Journal is reporting online that Carty insulted blacks, and one of his top aide's confrims this!

The Journal is reporting that Mayor Finkbeiner made insulting remarks about black men and probably about black women. Mayor Finkbeiner turned down a recommendation to hire a black man because he would be "crucified" if he had two minorities serving as co-directors of the city's Youth Commission.

Three late thoughts on the election

3 great late thoughts about the election in the Toledo Journal this week. One thought:

Who is going to champion the issues that Darlene Fisher fought for? Please do not say Larry Sykes. He fell down the stairs and broke his good leg selling ''I’ll be a watchman for minority inclusion'' wolf tickets on the missed $641 million school rebuild opportunity program and now he just won another chance to break his other leg! Some things you simply do not need to repeat.

WARD THANKS SUPPORTERS AND CONGRATULATES CANDIDATES

Toledo, OH – The Primary Election results are in, and we now know who is advancing to the General Election.

The Toledo Journal Endorses Stephen Ward

Toledo, OH – With less than a week until the Primary Election, Independent City Council Candidate Stephen Ward receives an endorsement from the Toledo Journal. The Journal states, “As a minority candidate he would add to council's diversity, and his youth would bring some much needed new ideals in governing Toledo.”

Pickett Elementary should be closed down as a school and re-opened as a Laundromat.

The news concerning the Toledo Public school's Report card is very troubling to me, a parent of school age children, an advocate for children and parents and as a human being.

The best coverage of the TPS board appointment

can be found in the Toledo Journal's article last week. They go more in depth on what candidates said during the interviews, which this year was oddly under reported by area media.

Why does TPS not want to involve Scott alumns in the renovation of Scott?

Why would anyone in TPS be non-committal in keeping Scott alumns involved in the renovation of Scott? Lisa Sobecki and the administration think it is a bad idea. Maybe if they are involved things will go right, because we all know TPS's record on the building plan. Poor planning. Poor decisions. Over spent, under built.

Toledo Public Schools officials like to say they welcome community involvement. Now, with Scott High School’s renovation approaching, the public will learn whether that is real sentiment or just words.
