Wow, I am watching that Primetime live program on ABC and boy it looks bad. I guess the nation knows our dirty little secret that police response times in Toledo suck. The Toledo Police look like fools for telling the parents to not worry, then taking so long to respond and releasing the criminals. I will try to post the video here later tonight so you can watch it yourself.
Ok, so yesterday around noon, I used the TPS Web contact form and asked a simple question on if there is a regularly scheduled meeting this month. Well I have not heard a response from TPS. You can watch the counter on the right to see how long it takes TPS to answer a question from their Web site.

The local AFL_CIO prez is running an ad promoting The Employee Free Choice Act.
My union is pushing this bill hard too. And I am puzzled about
it. This bill would take away the secret ballot option for
workers who are deciding on whether or not to unionize.
I thought the freedom to vote in private is a big hallmark of
Democrats, but it isn't in this case.
A morning errand took me to downtown Toledo today. As my older son had been looking for a book which our local branch library did not have available, I thought I would check out the main library since I was downtown anyway. I want to say I was pleasantly surprised.

One has to wonder. My neighborhood is filled with smoke from fireworks. I think this year is worse than before and has even made it into our house. Will the smoke nazis stand up and protect us innocents from secondhand fireworks smoke, which unlike smoking is actually illegal?

I drove by the Ottawa Park Ice Rink today to see if it is true that work has started at the ice rink. Sure enough, the demolition is in progress. I became very angry when I saw this. Our streets are in such need of repair I can't imagine how replacing an ice rink deserves priority over street repair.
Does anyone know where Jim Blue has gone? He's apparently gone from WNWO TV24's news team. I noticed he wasn't on the news tonight and when I checked their website, he's not even listed anymore.
I read with great interest the Blade today. What was really interesting was the photo of shredded paper without any context. One wonders why it was added and looks strange compared to the rest of the article.
The second thing I noticed was what appears Jon to be saying that Board of Elections members should not be paid. Jon does this mean you will decline to be paid if you get on the board?

The people of Iowa are a shining example of how American communities can really come together in times of need and disaster. They are not whining, not blaming the Feds, not shooting at rescuers and I haven't seen any reports of looting either. A testament to the Midwest mentality.
No mention of who signed up Mr. Arthur even though Blade reported Mueler was at Stainbrook's press conference. Story inferred that Joanne signed up and supported Mr. Arthur.

Right now there are two things that are making people shake their heads wondering what is going on. 1. Why is Carty for some odd reason not wanting to help one of the best development opportunities in a long time-the Intermodal at the Toledo Express airport? And 2. The coverage the Blade is giving to Jon Stainbrook.

Have you noticed that the weather and other events are really strange? Earthquakes, storms, tornados, and monsoons. It just seems like a lot going on. What do you think?
So I was watching 13abc after the sirens went off thinking something may be bad. Well I looked at the radar, heard the commentary, and thought oh we will get a bad one. I once I saw the rain approaching, I went and shut our windows so the rain would not come in. I waited and waited. Well I was disappointed that there was only enough rain to wet the sidewalk.
While you may say McCain is old, I don't think Obama or Kerry has ever song the song about Toledo. This story, which I mentioned last month or so, showed up in the New York Times today.
I must be in a good mood, because I had a lot of chuckles today. Don't you think it is funny when Carty says he wants to form a committee to study the Intermodal? First that says, he is not an expert on intermodals and needs to assemble some, which means why is saying some place is better than another? Who is he going to assemble who has not talked in the Free Press or on WSPD?
