Grab the pitchforks

Hey I found this interesting.... I thinking about a new car, one that gets a little better mileage than my current Ford. I've had Hondas in the past, always had good luck with them. For the record, my Ford has been just as reliable, but the Focus doesn't look good to me. So I thought I'd look at a Honda again. The two Toledo dealers don't have many on their lots, the Civic is popular.

This just makes me sick. What kind of world do we live in where there's no human compassion for someone struggling? Just to think that this goes on everyday, everywhere makes me feel extremely distressed. Pray for us all.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTOL) - Saturday morning News 11 cameras caught Mayor Carty Finkbeiner in violation of parking, safety and green living codes of conduct. His car was parked illegally and left running for nearly 45 minutes with his dog Scout inside.

As of this post I have not been able to find any news stories about a scandal involving the Points of Light Foundation's eStore, but I am among the thousands or people getting screwed by what P.O.L.

The actions of the Toledo Public Schools these past two weeks has been anything but exemplary. Let’s start with the Start High school graduation. Has anyone seen the new "Toledo Pride" signs at the city entry points? I just saw one at the Secor/ Bancroft intersection and was wondering if they had been replaced in other areas. I didn't get the greatest look at it, but it was blue in color and stated "International Award Winning City" (or something close to that).

Here we go again. The sewer is collapsing in the same place it did last June. I have been calling the City about it since early Febuary. After a recent Lima city council meeting, concerned citizens gathered at a Lima school to discuss the SWAT Team shooting of an innocent mother and her child six weeks ago. As people arrived at the school, SWAT snipers were spotted on the roofs of nearby buildings. These are the same guys from the group that perpetrated the outrage in the first place.

And ask that something be done about Carty's lastest stunt of kicking the Marines out of downtown. They've gotta be able to do something. I also suggest flooding Carty's inbox with e-mails. Starting Monday morning, call his office too. This is a shameful thing that happened!

Anyone else notice this in today's Wall Street Journal? Like most critics they speak highly of design of the building, suggesting it "raises glass architecture to a whole new level." But then they appear to take the current TMA regime to task for compromising the overall beauty with a few bad choices late in the process...

Larry Sykes who caused chaos, confusion and discord on the Toledo Public School board has been appointed to the Lucas County Children Services Board. Who makes these appointments? In no way should this man be on any board that has anything to do with children, especially our most vulnerable children.
