I came across video tonight about a potential serious accident at the Toledo Speedway last night. There was a bus race/demolition derby where buses circle the infield track in a figure 8 hitting each other as the meet in the middle. The race was abruptly ended when the bus crashed into and went partially through the barrier in front of the stands.

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic -- The former University of Toledo basketball player charged with fixing games in a nearly two-year federal gambling probe is leaving the Dominican Republic en route to Puerto Rico, where he plans to cooperate fully with the authorities.

The UT is once again at the center of a gambling charge. This time around it is focused on Sammy Villegas who has been charged  with one count of conspiracy to influence sporting contests by bribery. This follows on the footsteps of the charges filed against Harvey "Scooter" McDougle last year on similar charges while playing for the UT Rockets football team.

I am just a normal middle class person living in Oregon, Ohio. I have lived here for the past 17 years. Our family of four loves this community, but we, like many other families in Oregon and other areas I am sure, just cannot pay any more taxes. We may have to sell our home to move to an area with lower property taxes.

Vote NO NO NO on the Oregon School Levy. Tell the School Board to fix the problem, Not Tax our Homes. Let them know that No means NO !

So, big sports news here in Toledo. After the minor league hockey team went on hiatus, they're returning soon, along with an arena football team, in a brand new sports arena. And here's where you start caring, because the new football team might be called the Toledo Peckerheads.

College football's winningest program ended its coaching search Sunday, nearly a month after it started, by announcing Rodriguez would succeed retiring Lloyd Carr.

"People don't know me, and they don't know where I've come from," Miles said Thursday in a wide-ranging, hourlong phone interview. "And they don't know what I'm capable of. I really feel like there is a lot of good to come out of me."
