Lucas County commissioners today are expected to decide whether to put a 0.16-mill, five-year additional levy on the November ballot to reopen COSI.

Yesterday, representatives from four local businesses said they would escalate their efforts to campaign for the levy — and would help the museum create new exhibits if the levy passes.

Having bought a North Toledo recycling center, Lucas County has plans to go into the recycling business.

The Lucas County Commissioners yesterday approved a $7,100 contract with Spring Valley Architects to improve the facility at 1011 Matzinger Rd. that the Lucas County Solid Waste Management district bought earlier this year.

AIRLINE passenger service may be iffy at Toledo Express Airport these days, but there should be no doubt now or in the future about the airport’s ownership.

Designers add trees, ivy, bushes to facade of new Toledo arena

Final drawings for the arena under construction in downtown, to be unveiled today by the Lucas County commissioners, show a green side - literally.

The designs include not only environmentally friendly construction with efficient heating and cooling systems, but also a lobby packed with trees and bushes as well as an ivy-covered glass "Green Wall" greeting visitors at its south entrance.
