The city of Toledo's commissioner of development
resigned yesterday to take a recently created job with the Regional
Growth Partnership.

Though Todd Davies said his job at the growth partnership is so new
that it lacks a title, he will help build technology-based companies
with the $22.5 million capital venture fund, Rocket Ventures.

A Toledo elementary school secretary is now on suspension after the school district said she released a nine-year old student into improper care, triggering a two-hour abduction investigation.
The incident took place at Fulton Elementary on Melrose Wednesday.

It is a shame. It is an absolute shame that we have allowed the Public Schools, the most precious gift of human kind in the world to be virtually destroyed. We have allowed this institution which was built upon the proposition, that everybody should have an excellent education, to be destroyed!

Lucas County Commissioner Ben Konop will hold a
town-hall meeting tonight in the wake of several recent high-profile
business closings in downtown Toledo.

The meeting, aimed primarily at downtown business owners, will be at 7 p.m. at Eddy B's Restaurant, 405 Madison Ave.

Tips to School Security for Toledo Public Schools

There was once a time when smoking in the boy's room was the infraction of the day. Those days are over...in today's public school, officials must deal with violence, sexual harassment, statutory rape, drugs, weapons, gangs, bombs, shootings, computer hacking, theft, irate disgruntled parents and domestic violence.

I am just a normal middle class person living in Oregon, Ohio. I have lived here for the past 17 years. Our family of four loves this community, but we, like many other families in Oregon and other areas I am sure, just cannot pay any more taxes. We may have to sell our home to move to an area with lower property taxes.

The Toledo Public School’s special board meeting was an exercise in political posturing. President Steel laid the groundwork for the selecting of the next board member who will take the place of Robert Torres. It was a political love-fest.

A lot has been said and written as to whether Steven Steel has a conflict of interest or not, well we did some research.
