The Battle of Athens (sometimes called the McMinn County War) was a rebellion led by citizens in Athens and Etowah, Tennessee, United States, against the local government in August 1946. The citizens, including some World War II veterans, accused the local officials of political corruption and voter intimidation. The event is sometimes cited by firearms ownership advocates as an example of the value of the Second Amendment to bring fair elections.

A Leverette Junior High School campus protection officer was arrested this afternoon for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old female student, authorities said. Another Cal. town bans smokers EVERYWHERE-inside, outside, sidewalks, etc.

Add El Cajon, CA (just east of San Diego) to Calabasas and Belmont.

On July 24 El Cajon presented a smoking ordinance lifted verbatim from the Calabasas Municipal Code. Smoking is banned in ALL places, indoors and outdoors, open to the public, including sidewalks, streets and parking lots, plus too much else to list here.
