Sean Levert son of Eddie Levert of the O'Jays is dead at the age of 39. No details available at this time. I knew Eddie Levert before he became the O'Jays and my heart goes out to this family. Sean's brother Gerald died in November 2006. How sad.

The Clean Energy Scam - lead story in Time mag this week

From his Cessna a mile above the southern Amazon, John Carter looks down on the destruction of the world's greatest ecological jewel. He watches men converting rain forest into cattle pastures and soybean fields with bulldozers and chains. He sees fires wiping out such gigantic swaths of jungle that scientists now debate the "savannization" of the Amazon.

Is the Toledo Push-Polling on Tax Renewal?

A couple of people have told me that the city, or an organization employed by the city, has begun to call people about the 3/4% tax renewal. Or, are they push polling by saying the police and fire staff will be laid if you don't vote for the renewal?

Mother, boyfriend indicted in toddler's death

There isn't a legal punishment that can do justice for poor Tayvon.

I suppose I'm a little disappointed to see that the mom can only get up to 10 years for her role in the toddler's death. If the abuse happened over the course of a few days, then surely she had opportunity to stop it from happening.
