Oust Webb, take back Point Place
As a former Point Place resident, I watched with amusement as the "Take Back Toledo" campaign worked to get a recall petition on the ballet to oust Carty Finkbeiner as mayor of Toledo. I think it's time for the residents of Point Place to start a new recall campaign to "Take Back Point Place," and oust Lindsay Webb.
Budget chief contradicts Obama on Medicare costs
By ERICA WERNER (AP) – 4 hours ago
WASHINGTON — Congress' chief budget officer is contradicting President Barack Obama's oft-stated claim that seniors wouldn't see their Medicare benefits cut under a health care overhaul.
The head of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, Douglas Elmendorf, told senators Tuesday that seniors in Medicare's managed care plans would see reduced benefits under a bill in the Finance Committee.
The bill would cut payments to the Medicare Advantage plans by more than $100 billion over 10 years.
Policyholders could pay more under Obama plan
By TOM MURPHY and LINDA A. JOHNSON (AP) – 7 hours ago
If President Barack Obama gets what he wants in his health care plan — covering all Americans and barring insurers from denying coverage — some analysts say individuals could wind up paying higher premiums.
The Obama plan would impose new costs on insurance companies, which would probably then raise the prices customers pay for coverage. Employers also would likely pass on some of their higher costs to employees.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A top senator is calling for fines of up to $3,800 on families who fail to get medical insurance after a health care overhaul goes into effect.

The pork Kaptur added to the climate change bill which no one was allowed to read totals 3.5 billion.
Because of the price tag of this bill alone is essentially guaranteeing it won't pass the Senate but it's important to note it will essentially end up a tax.
However, with all the talk of unneeded pork in the struggling economy our esteemed representative added in 3.5 billion for environmental projects in Ohio and "other midwestern states".
Perhaps some of the city's money woes have orginated from all the lawsuits against the city, city employees and the Mayor. For example starting with 2008:
1. Karen Stranahan filed suit against the garbage tax stating that it was taxation without representation.
2. The Midwest Retailors Association filed suit station the the city was in violation of the 4th, 5th, 13th and 14th Ammendment of the United States Constitution.
3. The Civil Rights Commision filed suit against the city for discrimantory practices towards employees that worked for the Mayor in 2008

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Want government assistance? Just say no to drugs.
Lawmakers in at least eight states want recipients of food stamps, unemployment benefits or welfare to submit to random drug testing.
Is Mark Sobczak honestly endorsing Independent Mike Bell on his own, or is there an aroma of Carty in this alliance. We all have to remember that Mike Bell was professional when he didn't rip Carty's arm off when called King Kong.
I strikes me a bit, because all I hear the national radio wing nuts talking about is the "Obama Recession"...
I'm not sure how that was ever suppose to work, but maybe this will shut them up for a about 10 seconds...who I'm I kidding, fact never mattered before, why should they now.
