November 9 Anouncement!

Good morning. As a PSA to all my fellow posters on this fine message board, on Nov. 9th. I will officially announce the new President of the United States, Hilliary Dennis Rodman Clinton. All I ask is before you open the post to read it is that you stand up at your computer and show the proper respect due the Potus.

As a side note, I loved the idea of voting for a candidate that wasn't a career politician and on the take like 99% of politicians are. Its too bad that candidate this year was Trump, not a politician but a mental case born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Another positive story about a police officer

A white police officer spotted a young, African-American male walking in an area where few people walked. He did NOT hassle the young man, He did NOT arrest the young man, He did NOT shoot the young man. Rather he and other officers with whom he serves helped the young man. Read what they did and why they did it here:

Police officers take wonderful, humane actions every day...which are too seldom reported.

A West Virginia state trooper, Derek Graham, pulled over a very drunk driver, and found a very smelly, unkempt young child in the back seat. The child was covered in vomit from head to toe, had only a diaper on, and smelled of vomit, urine, and feces. As Officer Graham put it, "It was almost just my dad instinct popped into play,” Graham said. “Forget state trooper, forget law enforcement officer. It was dad that took over, [and I] said [to myself], ‘I gotta clean this little guy up.'”

Former center for choice building coming down this morn

A great danger to Toledo is the unfettered shedding
Of innocent blood. God judges nations/ cities for that.
This abortion building was typical - near a minority neighborhood , high % of black babies terminated here , fulfilling planned parenthood/ Margaret Sanger's wishes of
Limiting minority population .
This plot will become a memorial/prayer garden .

Toledo Take Three

WOW...such a short word and seems simple, yet not quite big enough to cover my thoughts right now.

First, l think as a community we should welcome back the students that have started or are starting school. They most likely are entering new classrooms and who can't remember that nervousness in the pit of your stomach when you started school. Who is my teacher? What am I going to wear? Will he/she like me? Maybe the kids won't sit by me at lunch.

Far too many charter schools are terrible; Ohio's are among the very worst!

I am adding two disclaimers here. First of all, although the long-time President of the American Federation of Teachers, Albert Shanker, was a strong advocate of the value of charter schools, long before they became a reality, because most modern charter schools have morphed into giant sinkholes where taxpayer money disappears, the American Federation of Teachers opposes most of the current state and federal statutes governing current charter schools. And this video came to me via the American Federation of Teachers.

Find a dog to love that is not a pit bull!

I am linking to two articles describing a fatal attack by two dogs on the friend of a college professor, in the owner's yard. The dogs are described as, "American bulldog mixes." Along with killing the woman, the dogs also bit their owner as he tried to protect his friend! Here are the links: and:

Cleveland, Ohio, and America lose a great man -- George Voinonvich

George Voinovich won his first elective office by taking a strong stand against a Fair Housing law. Years later, as mayor of Cleveland, he signed into law a strong Fair Housing law. Some would label this as a "flip-flop." To George Voinovich, it was plain common sense. Times had changed, and he had changed with them. Unlike so many ideologues of both the right and left, especially today, George Voinovich was willing to compromise.

Pope Francis is the best Pope of my lifetime.

I will provide a link to an article on the latest apostolic letter issued by Pope Francis. In it, he establishes the strongest reaction yet regarding abuse by church officials. I am not Catholic, however I was taught to always hold clergy of any faith in the highest regard. Pope Francis is doing everything he can to repair the image of Catholic clergy, not only to other Catholics, but to those who follow other faiths as well.

Parallels between Baylor University scandal and Republican Party's nominating The Donald for POTUS

Baylor University is a Christian, faith-based, private university the leadership of which enabled innumerable male university athletes in allowing them to create and maintain an air of sexual terror among the female population of that campus.

Don't use cell phones while driving. Especially, don't text!

Amanda Clark had survived. It was a miracle! She had been using her cell phone while driving a large vehicle. Amanda ran a stop sign. She was broadsided by another vehicle. Her vehicle rolled over about 3 times and ended up on its top. Amanda survived with only minor injuries. She was a graduating senior in high school. She claimed that she knew how lucky she had been to survive. She swore that no message would ever be that important to her again.

In Syria: Russia right; America wrong?

As you may recall, Russia took its good old time to get directly involved in Syria. Even though Russia had been a forever backer of the Assad regime, Russia seemed reluctant to take decisive action. Apparently, after years of assessment, Russia decided that ISIS/ISIL or Daesh, whatever is your choice of what to call them, amounts to a much greater evil than is the Assad regime in Syria. Apparently also, Russia assessed the moderate opposition to both Daesh and Assad to be unreliable, disunited, and too weak to be effective.

Republicans: Are they about to select the worst possible candidate for November?

According to the latest polls, the best candidate for the Republicans to nominate out of the "Final Three" is John Kasich. It's not even close. Those who read here regularly know that I do NOT like John Kasich AT ALL! I regularly call him Governor Sick, but the numbers are fairly consistent throughout February and March.
When running against Hillary, Kasich is a clear leader in all recent polls:

Am I the only one who sees hypocrisy in The Donald calling for unity?

I listened to part of his speech. The Donald -- of all people -- decried the deep divisions in our country, after he has spent the entire campaign, since he entered the fray, ripping various ethnic and/or racial groups in our society.

The Donald: Is he a liar, an idiot, or both?

Here is a link to an interview from this morning.
David Duke publicly endorsed The Donald for POTUS. Duke stated that, "voting against Donald Trump at this point is really treason to your heritage [whiteness?]."

Another "Feel Good" (albeit heart-wrenching) story.

A ten year old girl gave her life to save two very young children who were in the path of an out-of-control SUV. Here's a link to the story: Anne Frank said, in the midst of hiding from the terrorism that we label The Holocaust, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart."

Rich Kinder calls this stock market: "...a Chicken Little, the sky-is-falling market."

Rich Kinder is the founder of energy giant Kinder Morgan. His analysis of the current investment environment, I admit, parallels my own. But (very) Rich Kinder has much better credentials than do I. There are very knowledgeable people who disagree with (very) Rich Kinder. No one is infallible.

Is Trump Going Independent ? I Say Yes.

It's interesting that Trump has decided to broadcast his own venue instead of participating in the next debate. In my opinion, this move will doom his campaign because this clearly shows what type of incompetent POTUS he would be. So I say, Mr. Trump, take your ball and go home. He must have heard me because that is exactly what he is doing.

Equality In America

In 1887, ex-slaves began petitioning the federal government for pensions and compensation for the years they had labored without wages before abolition. When Congress ignored their thousands of petitions, they tried to sue for wage theft but were told they could not. At the very least, all African Americans should be eligible for reparations. Monies could come from corporations, from banks and insurance companies.

Actual advice to really help in a rare, but growing, dangerous situation

I am linking to an article about the best actions to take if you happen to be in one of those rare, but growing, mass shooting situations. I hope that no one here ever needs to use the information presented here, but life has a way of throwing us into situations which are unforeseeable. So just in case, here's the link:
