I'm sorry Toledo, but Mike Bell made his bones as a democrat. I don't know why he didn't choose to run as a democrat, but I never believed that he wouldn't govern as one. Today he asked those of you left in the city who actually pay income taxes to pay more. From 2.25% to 2.5%. But it's only "temporary".

According to Chuck Shumer the Cash For Clunkers program is a "success". Here's raw video of what a huge success it is. These cars will be destroyed because the govt. says they need to go.

Lucas County Commissioner and Mayoral candidate Ben Konop, who by running for mayor is warning us he is a liar, has his Wikipedia page protected from any truth. With his embarrassing video all over the internet, CNN, Comedy Central, and MSNBC, one would hope that a quick visit to Konop's Wiki page would provide some insight. However, the Controversies page has been removed more than once by user "BKonop." The man is a LC Commissioner, running for Mayor, and is editing his Wikipedia page - talk about qualified.

Okay, so the Strickland administration decided Ohio needed a new look for our license plates. A basic design was created, Mrs. Taxin' Ted made some changes, and the design was finalized. Apparently the Ohio BMV created over 1 MILLION sets of plates, because we were going to go through a mandatory "replate". Personally I think this was a good idea, because many older plates are no longer reflective, rusty, and illegible. Most states do have some kind of mandatory replating after 5 to 10 years.

The mayor today used the suicide of a man he referred to as a "very good friend" to prove his point that fewer police don't contribute to crime. He actually said that we won't hear this man's mother complain that there were no Toledo Police patrolling the park where her son decided to kill himself. The mayor of course didn't mention the fact that that the man shot himself in Side Cut MetroPark which is in Maumee and wouldn't have Toledo police patrolling anyway.

Apparently Job Stainbrook can now add journalist to his ever-growing list of accomplishments, according to his interview with Andrew Z in the Talk Back segment of Fox Toledo News.

It seems like the news is battering us on a daily basis, and tempers are flaring. What better time to rattle off a few jokes to each other? Let me start:

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) - Some workers at a Greene County restaurant are in hot water with the health department, after an employee took a bubble bath in a store sink.
