Mitt Romney: A Human Being Who Built That

Okay--so I get that Ron Paul is trying to make a point about the two-party system (even though he--like his fellow Libertarian, Gary Johnson--ran for president as a Republican). But his display at today's Republican convention proves that he just can't seem to accept the fact that his ego is larger than the number of people who voted for him in the primaries. He and his followers causing a disturbance at the convention was like a bunch of spoiled kids who can't accept that they weren't picked to be on the team.

Romney's Foreign Assets

This is a great example of why Mitt Romney must share his tax returns for the last ten years--not just the last five. Otherwise, Romney's withholding of those tax returns just makes him look more like a international con artist and less like a trustworthy presidential candidate.

Quoting from the HuffingtonPost article of August 20, 2012:

Presented With Letters, Ryan Admits Requesting Stimulus Cash

Again, the Republican Party has picked a loser for the Vice President's spot. I'm sure there may be Republians who somtimes tell the truth.

Romney hasn't paid any taxes in 10 years?

I don't know if this is true or not, but there are now two separate (but anonymous) sources at Bain that back this claim up.

American Patriots

In light of the recent Obama ad on TV...
I know he is off key but at least it shows Patriotism:

Is Team Romney dissing LCRP Chair Stainbrook?!?

Romney campaign opens office in BG

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Romney campaign opened an office in Bowling Green Tuesday morning.

The "Victory Center of Northwest Ohio" is located on South Main Street. It is a place where volunteers can come together to help campaign, make phone calls, prepare for door-to-door walks and distribute yard signs.

The G(reedy) O(ld) P(arty) Is At It Again

The following story is in today's Blade: House Republicans may set aside a bill calling for the biggest reduction in food stamps for the POOR since 1996, averting a fight over cuts that critics assail as immoral during hard times, House leaders said Thursday.

Food stamps would face the largest cut, $16 billion over 10 years, in the House farm bill-$2 billion more than for farm subsidies and nearly half of all the savings in the bill. The cuts are estimated to reduce enrollment by 5 percent.

My thoughts on this bill:

IRS Takes a Closer Look at Rove's Dark-Money Group
Quote from article:
"As they dominate the airwaves with political ads, dark-money nonprofits are coming under increased scrutiny. At issue is the charge that they're running afoul of their tax-exempt status by focusing on partisan political activity. Earlier this week, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman sent subpoenas to a nonprofit affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce to see if millions of dollars had been improperly funneled to the Chamber (a 501(c)(6) nonprofit) for political purposes.

Unemployment rates dropped more than the national average in every state that elected a republican governor in 2010

States that elected a Republican governor in 2010 experienced a decrease in unemployment rates that was 50% better than the average for the entire country.

Among the states that saw the most dramatic decreases in unemployment rates were Florida, Nevada, Ohio, and Michigan.

BULLETIN: THE WEBSITE HAS BEEN UPDATED--AND WHAT A FINE WEBSITE IT IS! According to Lucas county GOP website--"The March 6, 2012 Primary Election is almost here"

I had heard that local Republican and Conservative groups were organizing a protest for when Obama is in town on Thursday. So silly me, I thought I'd go to the Lucas County Republican Party website for information.

I must have travelled to a parallel universe thinking that the County GOPers would have an up-to-date site--with the chairman busy steaming-up car windows and all (

Republicans Repudiate Pay Equity for American Women

Apparently, Republicans in the United States Senate do not think that women are worth as much as men.

The United States Senate has failed to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act that would provide equal pay for women performing equal work as men. The failure to assure equality falls squarely on the shoulders of Senate Republicans, all of whom voted against Paycheck Fairness.

The banksters take out their Lugar

Quote from article:
"It's no surprise, but long-time Indiana Sen. Richard Lugar -- not even a moderate RINO but merely a conservative from before "conservative" was just another word for "crazy" -- is out of a job tonight. It's easy to blame Lugar's loss to a generic right-wing GOP rival as the work of the Tea Party -- except we've already established that the Tea Party failed to exist the moment that Fox News pulled the plug on its creation. So who whacked Lugar?" (MORE)
