On his Fox News show this past Wednesday, right-wing extremist Glenn Beck claimed, “The uber-left is in business with big business.” But next Tuesday, Beck is keynoting a U.S. Chamber of Commerce forum in Michigan sponsored by several major corporations, including AT&T, Comcast, and Dow Corning.

Mayoral candidates Mike Bell and Keith Wilkowski will be on with me in the morning for final interviews before the primary on next Tuesday. The "lair" line comes from young Ben Konop who on his first scary visit to WSPD uttered those immortal words.

On Wednesday morning Mike Collins and Jim Moody join me for interviews about thier runs for Mayor. They had some tough words for each other in the Toledo Free Press debate earlier and we'll talk about that and some of the new things both are saying now that the election is just a week away.

Joe McNamara joined me on the show today to push for the passage of Issue 1, a proposal the mayor originally supported.

Friday morning I host the two heads of the YMCA/JCC for an hour long interview about the South YMCA. Robert Alexander, Pres. CEO, and Paul Schlatter head of the Board of Directors will be on to give us the final update on "the deal" and the future of the South Y location. Did the constant barrage of negative coverage hurt fundraising? What happens after three years? Is what Alexander makes important to the story?
Should be fun.

Local "harmful right wing propogandist" Fred LeFebvre (hey that's me) will have mayoral candidate Keith Wilkowski on Wednesday at 7:30a. This is part of the continuing series of interviews WSPD will have with all the viable mayoral candidates this summer and fall. Mike Collins will be on with Brian Wednesday afternoon, and I'm sure Mike Bell and Jim Moody will be making return appearances.
Council candidates not afraid of tough questions will also be on with us on a regular basis. Should be fun.

The right wing onslaught continues on Thursday when Adam Martinez, Democrat candidate for council visits to talk about his non partisan effort to defeat the Nine Is Fine proposal. I will try to spin it so it looks like Martinez is being controlled by Dick Cheney.

CC Media Holdings Inc., the parent of radio broadcaster Clear Channel Communications Inc. and operator of five Toledo-area radio stations, this week reported a first-quarter loss of $418 million.

The disappointing earnings, which followed two rounds of layoffs affecting 2,400 employees, compare with an $800 million profit in the year-earlier period.

The latest candidate for council at large seat, Ty Daniels, will join me on Wednesday morning. I will pepper him with right wing extremist questions while telling you about my favorite restaurants (star diner, carrabba's) where to buy flowers (proflowers.com) and filling you in with traffic, weather, and the mayor's latest idea for Southwyk- horses.
Plus the latest on the dead horse that is the Erie Street Market. We are now being sued by the local unions, and it appears the mayor may have struck another secret deal with Rob Croak and Moussa Salhouk to run the ESM.

The mayor today used the suicide of a man he referred to as a "very good friend" to prove his point that fewer police don't contribute to crime. He actually said that we won't hear this man's mother complain that there were no Toledo Police patrolling the park where her son decided to kill himself. The mayor of course didn't mention the fact that that the man shot himself in Side Cut MetroPark which is in Maumee and wouldn't have Toledo police patrolling anyway.
