I didn't see Michelle last night--I always fold towels on Tuesdays.
Anyway, did Michelle happen to talk about...
Have you ever used the term "Hold down the fort"? Well, if you have, you are a racist SOB! That's the message from John Robinson, the U.S. State Department's Chief Diversity Officer (yes, you read that correctly).
Robinson has compiled a list of "potentially offensive" terms that State Department employees should avoid.
Feeling inferior because you don't have as many Twitter followers as your friends and family? No need to despair--do like Obama and buy yourself some followers!
Who knew that buying Twitter "followers" was even an option. With a simple Google search, I found sites that would sell me followers for as little 1 cent each. Heck, for a mere $100, I could buy 10,000 followers. I'm feeling more confident already!
As reported in several publications including the New York Times, Fake Follower Check is a new software tool that can determine how many fake followers exist for a particular Twitter account. The software found that 70% of Obama's 18.8 million Twitter followers are fake! So much for the "most transparent administration in history."
Who knew that after all of his Marxist, class warfare rhetoric regarding Mitt Romney's experience in the private sector...
“When some people question why I would challenge his Bain record, the point I’ve made there in the past is, if you’re a head of a large private-equity firm or hedge fund, your job is to make money….That’s part of the American way. That’s part of the system. But that doesn’t necessarily make you qualified to think about the economy as a whole, because as president, my job is to think about the workers. My job is to think about communities, where jobs have been outsourced.”
That deep in his hypocritical heart, President Obama secretly had a crush on the boys at Bain Capital.
Continued after the fold.
Leadership rules your life.
In the recent news you have a chance to bear witness to several people in politics and who knows, perhaps your personal life, try to win you over with what they would like you to think a leader would be. They offer varying opinions on what would be best for you and our country while gaining them the most, with the messages they send you in speeches and sometimes lectures. But is what they are telling you necessarily good leadership qualities or rather are their actions and words truly what we the people need in a leader.
We've all heard the stories about how great GM is doing. The "secret" is now out that a primary reason for the rise in auto sales is that GM Financial has increased the number of subprime loans it is giving. A subprime loan is one made to someone with a FICO score under 660.
Just like the mortgage loan disaster where people who had no hope of repaying were given loans, GM Financial is doing the same thing with cars. In the 1st Quarter of 2012, 93% of its total loans went to people with FICO scores under 660.
"The White House hinted on Tuesday that President Barack Obama may address the politically sensitive issue of gun control more broadly in the aftermath of the recent shootings in Colorado.
Gun control is a tricky issue in the United States, especially during presidential campaigns, and the Democratic president has been cautious in expressing any support for gun-law changes that could alienate voters in key battleground states he needs to win in the November 6 election."
In light of the recent Obama ad on TV...
I know he is off key but at least it shows Patriotism:
THIS VIDEO IS PRICELESS! MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell was really trying to divert the conversation to blaming Romney for outsourcing jobs--the only problem was that she had no facts to support her claim. One can't help but to feel embarrassed for her as she stammered and stuttered as John Sununu chewed her up and spit her out!
While Obama and Kaptur were in Maumee touting how the private sector is "doing just fine," I was visiting, for the last time, a long-time local establishment that is going-out-of-business.
Colonial Cleaners on Monroe Street is closing its doors after 65 years in business due to what a posting on its door describes as the "insurmountable" cost of doing business.
I guess it's not just the private sector that--according to Obama--"is doing just fine." As is the custom with the Obama Administration, they released some potentially damaging information over a weekend.
While the Country languishes in a recession that has taken longer to recover from than any in history, the average wage increase was 8 percent for White House staff members.
It will warm your heart to know that your tax dollars are paying for 3 calligraphers making $85,000, $94,000 and $96,000 (I knew I should have listened to Sister Virginia about the importance of good handwriting)!
The Director of African-American Media (yes, you read that correctly) got an 86 percent pay increase and now makes $78,000 (obviously, he's worth every dime)! And not to slight another important voting minority group--the Director of Hispanic Media makes the same amount. I looked for the Director of European-American Media, but no luck. I guess if I were African-American or Hispanic I might be insulted that I needed a specially trained communicator.
I think I've figured out why Barack Obama can't seem to get the Country back on a solid economic track--he killed too many brain cells smoking pot in high school and college (not to mention his admitted cocaine use). Thank god he isn't George Bush or this would be a real issue.
Obama was a member of the "Choom Gang" in high school. Apparently, "Choom" is a term for smoking marijuana. He details in one of his books how big of a role smoking pot played in his high school and college years--facts that are supported by his classmates.
In his high school yearbook, he thanks the Choom Gang along with his drug dealer--I guess M-O-M took up too much space.
A simple question with what is probably an easy answer.
Are the President and his campaign team not nearly as bright as they are made out to be or are they so arrogant and out of touch that they think no one will call them on it?
ANOTHER REFERENCE: Oops--the same literary agency that published a 1991 reference to Obama as being "born in Kenya" (see below)--and recently explained that they had done this in error--published another Obama bio in 2003--once again stating Kenya as his birthplace. So what was Obama up to? Was it "sexier" to claim he wasn't born in the U.S.? Only an egotist could rationalize that the truth about him (whatever that might be) would never come out. Here's a link to an article with further information:
"Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii." Another "birther" claim? Nope. This quote was taken from a booklet published in 1991 by a literary agency promoting Obama's books.
Knowing that Obama's favorite subject is himself, it would be very difficult to believe that he didn't insist on proofreading this publicity biography. As suggested in the link to an article on the next page, the uncovering of this information doesn't so much call into question Obama's place-of-birth, as much as it reinforces what we've come to know about him--he seems to manufacture his past as it suits his current needs.
A marriage (match) made in heaven; the Democratic National Committee and Charlotte, North Carolina.
For those who may not have been aware, even after Tuesday, the Democrats will be holding their quadrennial get together in Charlotte during the first week of September. So what made, and still makes, Charlotte such an appealing location that it was chosen over the other finalist cities of Cleveland, Minneapolis and St. Louis?
Could it have been...
You know the saying--if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... I guess Obama has decided he may as well stop pretending and go ahead and use a slogan for his campaign that has a historic association with Socialism. The Obama campaign announced today its slogan for 2012 is "Forward." Wikipedia states "The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications."
When Obama was a candidate in 2008 he had to occasionally pretend that he had a clue (and cared) about national and international issues. Once he became President, he could drop all that boring stuff and do what he loves to do--schmooze.
