Wisconsin supreme court nails it

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has upheld the 2011 law that effectively ended collective bargaining for most public workers, sparked massive protests and led to Republican Gov. Scott Walker's recall election and rise to national prominence.

And it was a 5-2 vote.

What's wrong with this story?

Do you remember, as a kid, sitting in the doctor's waiting room reading Children's Highlights magazine? One of my favorite parts was the "What 's Wrong with This Picture?" game. If you were lucky, no other kid had already played the game--so you could be the first (if your parents would allow) to circle the mistakes (things like a fish on a leash or a flower pot on someone's head).

Well, here's a new game--What's Wrong with This Article?" I don't mean grammar or punctuation--but content. (Answers on the next page.)

The man accused of trying to kidnap a four-month-old baby from a hotel room is behind bars. The Toledo Police Department says Jaequan Smith was arrested Wednesday. According to investigators, the infant was left unattended at the Days Inn on Miami Street on Monday while the mother walked her boyfriend to his car. When she returned, Smith was allegedly leaving the hotel room with the baby in his arms, but was stopped.

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, or is it?

Interesting report-Earlier this month, Breitbart London reported that a Welsh government office was to scrap its £50,000 wind turbine after it generated just £5 of electricity per month. It now turns out that this is not the only place small-scale wind-turbine to have proved completely pointless.
Here is a list (courtesy of Not a Lot of People Know That) of 12 other local authorities wasting money on turbines that have proved to be next-to-useless.

Border Patrol Agent: Immigration Crisis has been Orchestrated as “Asymmetrical Warfare” to Destroy the Country from Within

Last week former U.S. Rep. from Florida and current Fox News contributor Allen West urged everyone to watch a YouTube video of an interview with Zack Taylor. Taylor is the chair of the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers (NAFBPO). He's been quoted in the Washington Times, and interviewed by the likes of Breitbart Texas and The Blaze.

But it's Taylor's recent interview for a documentary by Chris Burgard that's been burning up the conservative internet. Burgard is filming "Back to the Border," a sequel to his 2006 original documentary, "Border."

Jim Crow and The Donkey: A True History the Left Loves To Ignore

You know you've hit a sore spot when the Left starts screeching.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow's producer, Steve Benen, just took a whack at the American Civil Rights Union's new booklet, "The Truth About Jim Crow," (TTAJC) which National Review Online writer John Fund wrote about in a recent column.

Benen cites a critique from the Atlanta Journal Constitution blogger Jay Bookman: "Jay Bookman took a closer look at the pamphlet Fund's piece was promoting, highlighting some of its more glaring errors of fact and judgment."

'Obama Thanks Muslims for ‘Building the Very Fabric of Our Nation’

A statement put out today by President Barack Obama on the occasion of a religious holiday is raising some eyebrows.
The holiday is a Muslim one called "Eid-al-Fitr" and the statement says:

This last month has been a time of fasting, reflection, spiritual renewal, and service to the less fortunate. While Eid marks the completion of Ramadan, it also celebrates the common values that unite us in our humanity and reinforces the obligations that people of all faiths have to each other, especially those impacted by poverty, conflict, and disease.

according to sitting VP, Democrats cannot be relied upon to provide support for their families

In a recent speech in Cincinnati OH, the current sitting VPOTUS, a man who is one heartbeat away from being the POTUS has rightly claimed that people of his own party cannot support themselves or their future!!

“I should have one Republican kid who’d grow up to make money,” Biden said, according to a clip of his speech from Cincinnati NBC affiliate WLWT. “You know, so when they put me in a home, I get a window with a view. You know what I mean?”

(Yes Joe, we know exactly what you mean!)

Can't wait to see the reaction to this story

So according to aCOWARD when you vote in a primary you are then lawfully held to that party. Here's a little story out of Michigan The revelation that the Michigan Democratic Party’s presumptive gubernatorial nominee voted in the most recent Republican presidential primary won’t strike most Michigan voters as much of a scandal, much less a stain on the nominee’s political integrity.

Toledo is going down for the count

I try to stay west of Talmadge Road as much as possible. But a family member was in town and from her days in Toledo, she was familiar with the layout of the Kroger store on Monroe and Secor. So I took her over and waited in the car, Wow--talk about your sociological experience!

First, I see this interesting fellow in a pimped-out Mercedes (gold trim, fancy rims) pull up to a spot in the far reaches of the lot. Sure enough--a woman who looked like she would be more at home on a section of Monroe Street in the heart of downtown--gets out of her car. The Mercedes dude, wearing his rust-colored zoot suit (with matching shoes), gets out of his car. They embrace, she gets into his car--and off they go into the night. I felt the need to immerse myself in a vat of antibacterial soap.

Then there was the beggar at the traffic light exiting the parking lot. Her sign said she was a mother of two and "anything would be appreciated." My friend was shocked to see this. People weren't begging on street corners when she left Toledo 8 years ago (yeah, and Obama wasn't President then either).

As we left, there was a homeless man with all his worldly belongs strapped to his back walking down Monroe headed for Secor.

House Republicans Moving to Give Barack Obama More Than A Billion Dollars to Fund Crisis on the Border

The radical Islamist group terrorizing Iraq and ousting Christians there has threatened President Barack Obama, U.S. sources revealed.

"We're coming for you, Barack Obama," the group threatened, according to Elissa Slotkin, acting principal deputy undersecretary of defense for policy, in a story published by The Hill.

The group's insurgence inside the country has drawn the attention of U.S. officials who have called it "worse than al-Qaida."

Boeing reaches plane parts deal with Iran

Reuters) - U.S. planemaker Boeing (BA.N) has disclosed an agreement with Iran to provide airplane parts, relaxing a three-decade freeze in ties as part of a broader package of sanctions relief.

The agreement sets out general terms and conditions for the "potential sale of certain goods and services related to the safety of flight," Boeing said in a regulatory filing.

GOP Blasts Democrats for Boycotting Talks on VA Legislation

Republicans slammed Democrats on Thursday after most of them boycotted a conference committee meeting to work out differences between House and Senate bills addressing the Veterans Affairs crisis.

"The crisis at VA is not a partisan problem, and I will do everything I can to prevent this from devolving into an exercise in the sort of bickering and name-calling for which Washington has become infamous," said Rep. Jeff Miller, the Florida Republican who chairs the House Veterans' Affairs Committee.

Just say no to higher property taxes on August 5th!

Come August 5th just say no to higher property taxes! Springfield township is dumping on homeowners a proposed 7.9 mill tax. Governor Kasich is tax shifting the state burden onto the local homeowner.

"We lost contact with the plane." Really?

By John Rappoport

Air Algerie Flight 5017, from Burkina Faso to Algiers crashed, according to "officials."
Some of these officials state contact with the plane was lost an hour after takeoff.
You can probably remember similar statements about other doomed flights: lost contact. Wasn't that the case on 9/11?

"Lost contact" appears to cover all available means of communication. Nothing on radar screens. Radio inoperative. No transponder signals picked up.
In this day and age, with a blizzard of technology available to track and surveil, what is going on?

Muslim Terrorists Use Children as Human Shields!

For some odd reason, modern liberals have chosen to side with fascist Islam against Democratic Israel. It’s a confusing (and disturbing) trend among the modern left, who have turned their back on the attacked Israel in favor of the violent aggressors in Islam.

Perhaps educating liberals might help to change their minds?

Taxpayers start with T and that rhymes with P which stands for pools

I took crap from a number of people on here especially prunefart who no longer posts here about the pic of the empty splash pad I posted some weeks ago. I wonder if the same reaction will be fired back at Ch. 13 for their honest reporting of the dismal numbers of attendance at Toledo pools this year. Of course it's a 'quality of life' issue though.

A small ceremony ushered in the opening of Jamie Farr Pool on North Summit St, Wednesday.

FEDERAL APPEALS COURT DEALS POTENTIALLY HUGE BLOW TO OBAMACARE

A federal appeals court has thrown out an IRS regulation that implements key subsidies for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, dealing a potentially significant blow to the law.

In a 2-1 decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit sided with plaintiffs who argued the law, as written, only allows for subsidies to be provided through state exchanges. The lawsuit, Halbig v. Burwell, has the potential to cripple Obamacare in the 36 states where the federal government provides subsidies for low-income people to buy health insurance.
