Call Marcy Kaptur!
Her vote might decide the fate of ObamaCare
President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid are hell-bent to pass their health care takeover despite a tidal wave of opposition from the American people, and Marcy Kaptur may be the one who casts the deciding vote to determine whether or not you get fined for not having "government-approved" health insurance in the future.

Call, fax, or Email Congresswoman Kaptur at the information below and insist she OPPOSE this bill:

Rich Iott to attend Children of Liberty Rally Today in Downtown Toledo

News Editors, Reporters, Producers: This is only an advisory that businessman Rich Iott, a candidate for the Republican nomination for Congress in Ohio's 9th District, will attend the rally sponsored by the Children of Liberty in downtown Toledo this afternoon.

The rally is to voice opposition to the national health care bill under consideration in Congress.

Iott is opposed both to the health care bill itself and to the manner in which the Democratic leaders in the House are considering passing it by "deeming it to have passed" without an actual vote.

Toledo Free Press: Look for the union label

Marcy's for Health Care

We all knew she would. She is a good soldier and will fall on the sword, The woman has no back bone., She even turns her back on her religion regarding the abortion issue.
She needs to be sent to pasture in November. She is a disgrace to NW Ohio and her office. In retirement she could spend time tutoring Baby Ben. He needs a lot of training.

On the bright side of this whole issue will be the states filing suits that will no doubt give rise to increasing state rights over the federal government.

ABC News says Kaptur one of undecideds

So I'm watching ABC news and see a picture of Mousy Kaptur and the president. He's got his arm around her, and ABC News is calling her one of the undecideds. Her position on abortion is the sticking point for her and a number of democrats. She's used her membership in my parish for years as a reason to vote for her. The final version of the house bill has been posted. The abortion funding is still there. It's time for Marcy to do the right thing. Have you called her office? I have. You can join me or try to offset me, I don't care.

The Independent Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur takes on the Obama Administration.

The president's top economic advisers took some heat today over jobs and the economy from both parties. At a House hearing, Republican Jerry Lewis of California charged, the administration is spending and taxing too much. And Democrat Marcy Kaptur of Ohio complained, the president's aides were out of touch, as unemployment in parts of Ohio tops 15 percent.

REP. MARCY KAPTUR, D-Ohio: We have more cities poor in this country than any other state now. Our food bank lines are growing longer. Twenty-five percent of our food banks and food shelters turned away people last year.

State Government Should Be Accountable to the Taxpayers

In the words of the President Ronald Reagan, “Governments tend to not solve problems, only to rearrange them.”

This is especially true in the current state biennial budget, which fails to fix the deficit with structural improvements to the way Ohio does business and instead procrastinates Ohio’s true problem—skyrocketing spending and waste, as well as the unbearable tax rates that support it.

Grant Aims to Improve Public Safety by Supporting Ex-offenders

(TOLEDO, OH - March 12, 2010) – Prisoners who are being released back to Lucas County from state prisons are getting support that could help them remain law abiding and less likely to committing more crimes that could send them back behind bars.

City Issues Layoff Notices

"Plan B" to balance the budget would result in severe cuts to parks and public safety

The City of Toledo today issued 137.5 layoff notices in an effort to present a balanced budget come March 31st. The layoff measures would be in addition to other cuts and revenue enhancements that have been proposed for council approval, but not yet acted upon. The personnel cuts so far would result in the elimination of 125 police officers and 32.5 other non-essential general fund positions - some of which are currently vacant. Other notices are pending.

Bob Latta Mobile App

Bob Latta's website now has mobile apps available for Blackberries, windows phones and iPhone/iPod touch.

It's pretty nifty having such an an app available on my iPod touch.
http://latta.house.gov/mobileapps/

(you have to be on your mobile device to download the app)

Now just waiting for Chris to release the swampbubbles app. Also waiting for Glass City Jungle app and Toledo Free Press app.

Also would be nice to see an app from dotoledo.org or some similar organization with information on Toledo events and restaurants and such.

Of course, I have no idea what it takes to develop such apps or how much it would cost, I'm just throwing this out there.
