WTOL Web-Poll

According to a non-scientific, WTOL poll, 21% of those who responded believe President Obama is" living up to his campaign promises," while 79% do not believe he is doing so.

I'd like to see them continue the poll, or present a similar one, after State of the Union to see if there is a shift in sensibility after he has an opportunity to re-connect with his audience through some crafty use of language.

One that will support his troops and let them know that , he has their back. (OH what?

Kennedy assassination opinions

I'm a bit of a junkie on all matters concerning the JFK assassination of almost 46 years ago (next month) and am interested in those Swampbubblers who are of an age (I'm sure there aren't many) where they might remember where they were and what they were doing when they learned of the assassination. Also, interested in theories/arguments in regards to single assassin (Oswald) or conspiracy debate.
Check current political debates/philosophies/arguments at the door. It isn't about that..

Fuzzy counting or fuzzy reporting?

Toledo company is named as an example of inflated reporting of federal stimulus dollar jobs.

The Toledo, Ohio-based Koring Group also received two FCC contracts to help people make the switch to digital television. The company reported hiring 26 people for each of the two contracts, bringing its total jobs to 54 on the government's official count.

Here it is, the only objective, unbiased ranking system there is. Strictly driven by wins and losses period. This is much more fairer to the non-BCS schools.

Compared to BCS rankings:
-Iowa = underranked
-USC = way overranked
-TCU = slightly underranked
-Cincinnati and Boise State = slightly overranked.

Pete Visclosky's defense earmarks examined

Democratic Rep. Pete Visclosky’s taste in pork has changed considerably amid a federal investigation into his office’s earmarking and fundraising practices, and that’s just one sign that the shy appropriator is adjusting to his new life in the spotlight of a Washington scandal.

Visclosky once earmarked millions of Pentagon dollars a year for private companies outside his home state of Indiana but now seeks cash only for public works, educational institutions and the National Guard in the Hoosier State.

Head Of NFL Players Union Writes Email Opposing Rush Limbaugh's Attempt To Buy Rams

This union guy doesn't like Limbaugh-
"sport in America is at its best when it unifies, gives all of us reason to cheer, and when it transcends. Our sport does exactly that when it overcomes division and rejects discrimination and hatred."
