I couldn't believe my ears when I tuned into 60 minutes last night and was actually hearing the advocating for limited health care for the terminally ill patients in the ICU. After all they are just going to die anyway. It's a "natural progression".

As a nation and a region, we are battling uniquely difficult circumstances created by a harsh economic recession and a national health emergency — the spread of the H1N1 flu.
Call it a request or a suggestion, but to avoid having one problem compound the other here in Lucas County, we’d like all workers to be able to stay home when they’re sick with the flu.
The health care reform bill is being debated in the House right now, and Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) is holding the bill hostage with her support of the Stupak amendment. The Stupak amendment would restrict women's rights regarding abortion.
Jane Hamsher at Firedoglake points out an amendment inserted into the House health care reform bill that would extend monopolies for drug companies, and keep breast cancer patients paying out of the nose.

State Auditor Mary Taylor visits Tuesday at 7:30 to talk about the State of Ohio budget which is now in the Senate.
Taylor also will talk about a recent audit of the Medicaid program in the state and her report which shows how we could save $122.2 million. The state reps refused to include the savings in the budget passed on to the senate.
Taylor also has some strong thoughts on the huge deficit we will be facing in three years because of Strikland's spending this year.
It is no wonder America has some of the highest obesity rates in the world. Caterers at a sportsground have unveiled an artery-busting burger that packs in 4,800 calories - more than twice the recommended daily amount.
The "snack" contains five beef patties, five slices of cheese, fries, chilli, salsa, sour cream and a bun made from a pound of dough. But heath concerns haven't been completely ignored - the monster meal is topped off with a few leaves on lettuce and a couple of tomato slices.
