Fred LeFebvre-Jon Stainbrook Exclusive

This Monday at 7:30 Fred LeFebvre has as a guest on his number one talk show Jon Stainbrook recently elected Chair of the Republican Party. He should not bring a softball bat. Phones will be open if time allows. Meghan W. Smith will be the ring girl, Don Zellers will be the referee.

Samples of Bias

No mention of who signed up Mr. Arthur even though Blade reported Mueler was at Stainbrook's press conference. Story inferred that Joanne signed up and supported Mr. Arthur.

Has the Blade gone too far in their reporting on Stainbrook? My 10 observations

Right now there are two things that are making people shake their heads wondering what is going on. 1. Why is Carty for some odd reason not wanting to help one of the best development opportunities in a long time-the Intermodal at the Toledo Express airport? And 2. The coverage the Blade is giving to Jon Stainbrook.

So much so that many people are starting to ask uncomfortable questions. I don't think I have noticed so many people talking about the coverage over an issue like they are.

WSPD Only Radio In Attendance At Transportation Task Force Meeting

Once again WSPD was the only radio station in attendance when the Ohio Transportation Priorities Task Force rolled into Toledo for a meeting Tuesday at 4p. Tom Blaha from Wood County's Development Commissione, and Rich Martinko of the UT Intermodal Institute spoke. Both have been on Fred's show before talking about intermodal facilities.

Head Of Mayor's Intermodal Committee On With Fred Tuesday Morning

Jim Tuschman the head of the mayor's newly named intermodal committe will be my guest Tuesday morning. Following a long talk this afternoon I believe what he has to say tomorrow will be of interest to anyone wishing to see this area thrive and grow once again. Mr. Tuschman is a life long Toledo resident, attorney, UT regent, and former UT Board member.

The talk show environment in Toledo

If you have not noticed, the local talk show has heated up in the last 6 months in the morning. While 1370 WSPD is the highest ranked station in the morning, 1230 WCWA puts together an impressive list of guests each week. Troy went a step further this past week by publishing a weekly guest list at: http://www.troyneff.com/weekguest.php.

Obama Searching for VP

Sen. Barack Obama is quietly beginning his search for a running mate.

Florida, Michigan cannot save Clinton

Michigan and Florida alone can't save Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign. Interviews with those considering how to handle the two states' banished convention delegates found little interest in the former first lady's best-case scenario. Her position, part of a formidable comeback challenge, is that all the delegates be seated in accordance with their disputed primaries.

40 Yards of Pipe for 3000 Jobs? Hardly.

Intermodal freight transportation is exploding around the country and Northwest Ohio is well-placed and well-equipped to handle cargo for the tri-state area. However, we need to be smart about how we encourage development around resources like Toledo Express. Governmental agencies like the Port Authority are working to entice logistics companies into building intermodal terminals at TOL, but they also must determine which development prospects are practical and which proposals will only drain the area's limited infrastructure improvement budget. After reviewing Brian McMahon's proposal, I feel it qualifies as the latter for the following reasons.

Intermodal Update And Some Answers

I had the pleasure of speaking this morning with a number of people actively involved in the intermodal project that is a vision for Toledo Express. I went back and pulled some of handbanana's questions because he seemed a little unsure of how all this would work and confused about the process.
