St James Holiness Church of God in Christ in Toledo may have a set a nauseating new low. The church has had four convicted pedophiles operating in ministry with the Pastor’s knowledge. But that’s only the beginning of this shocking story which truly symbolizes why drastic reform is needed in COGIC now.

The pastor of St James, William James, Jr. didn’t put the men out of the church, it took legal action against them to stop their predatory activities.

The Toledo Journal is reporting online that Carty insulted blacks, and one of his top aide's confrims this!

The Journal is reporting that Mayor Finkbeiner made insulting remarks about black men and probably about black women. Mayor Finkbeiner turned down a recommendation to hire a black man because he would be "crucified" if he had two minorities serving as co-directors of the city's Youth Commission.

"A former UT dean has threatened Glass City Jungle operator and Toledo Free Press fact checker Lisa Renee Ward with legal action and is accusing her of racial bias," read the words from this weeks Toledo Free Press.

I find it very interesting that the Blade is castigated for not reporting "the news" and Lisa Renee has not reported this "newsworthy" story on her blog Glass City Jungle. Sort of like the pot calling the kettle black. Or the pot not calling the kettle anything, just ignoring it.

The Lucas County Board of Elections has 1,092 ballots that could be added to last week's Toledo primary election count, putting the final results for Toledo City Council in doubt.

The additional ballots include 166 absentee ballots accidentally left uncounted last Tuesday, Director Linda Howe said Monday.

She said two employees, a Republican and a Democrat, have received reprimands in their files and have come up with procedures to avoid a recurrence of the neglected ballots.

Sue Frederick the intrepid ticketer of illegally parked cars has struck again. As WSPD reported early this afternoon she is now stealing campaign signs from her neighbors lawns.

As Toledo City Councilman George Sarantou told Toledo Free Press Sept. 5, “We are in a fiscal emergency, and we would like permission from voters to use Capital Improvement Funds (CIP) for safety.”

We believe Toledo voters should give council that permission by voting “yes” on Issue 1 on Sept. 15.

We maintain great respect for councilman Tom Waniewski and councilwoman Lindsay Webb in their efforts to reduce government through passage of Issue 2, but we disagree with their stance.

Friday morning I host the two heads of the YMCA/JCC for an hour long interview about the South YMCA. Robert Alexander, Pres. CEO, and Paul Schlatter head of the Board of Directors will be on to give us the final update on "the deal" and the future of the South Y location. Did the constant barrage of negative coverage hurt fundraising? What happens after three years? Is what Alexander makes important to the story?
Should be fun.

Armed deputy guards are providing security for Mayoral Candidate Ben Konop. According to an article in the Toledo Blade as well as being reported by WTOL News, WSPD radio host Brian Wilson broadcasted Konop's personal cell phone number over the air.

In addition, a man approached Konop inside Government Center, and he had a knife in his waist band.

The Oregon School Board is at it AGAIN. They just don't get it. That No means NO!

So lets start by calling ALL of them, right now ! And have your family and friends call also. Voice your NO.

And lets go to the meeting this week and have our own Town Hall !

The right wing onslaught continues on Thursday when Adam Martinez, Democrat candidate for council visits to talk about his non partisan effort to defeat the Nine Is Fine proposal. I will try to spin it so it looks like Martinez is being controlled by Dick Cheney.

There are a few things I don't understand. First, given that he has had a "significant history of contact with the courts," according to the judge, how did he manage to get released so early?

A law professor is putting up the warning flag on this proposed law (HB 1966) and the very vague terms in it. It is being based on the tragic events that lead up to the death of Megan Meier and interestingly enough, the woman who intimidated Megan was convicted, so apparently current laws do work. One has to wonder then why this a one is being proposed. Read it yourself and see how alarmingly vague it is, how it appears to open up a whole can of worms if passed and how that could toss a bucket of cold water on free speech.

putting 700 officers on the street ,
lowering the trash fee after the first year,
hitting an employee with a coffee cup,
rebuilding Southwyck in his first year,
making $10,000 per concert at the Erie Street Market
etc etc etc (as Yul Brynner would say)

According to the Mayor in a letter sent to employees the other day the city is in dire straits. We are losing millions of dollars each week that we don't solve our budget crisis. The Mayor says the unions must give concessions. So why the hell did the city walk away from the bargaining table today?
