St James Holiness Church of God in Christ in Toledo may have a set a nauseating new low. The church has had four convicted pedophiles operating in ministry with the Pastor’s knowledge. But that’s only the beginning of this shocking story which truly symbolizes why drastic reform is needed in COGIC now.
The pastor of St James, William James, Jr. didn’t put the men out of the church, it took legal action against them to stop their predatory activities.

The Toledo Journal is reporting online that Carty insulted blacks, and one of his top aide's confrims this!
The Journal is reporting that Mayor Finkbeiner made insulting remarks about black men and probably about black women. Mayor Finkbeiner turned down a recommendation to hire a black man because he would be "crucified" if he had two minorities serving as co-directors of the city's Youth Commission.

Milken report puts Toledo tech jobs only above Detroit and Flint-last in Ohio
Bizjournals is reporting the latest Milken Institute rankings of tech jobs and Toledo rounds up the pack at 198 out of 200, only followed by Detroit and Flint. How depressing.
====
No other major Ohio city finished higher than Columbus, though Cincinnati (138), Dayton (183) and Akron (186) all moved up the list compared with last year. The lowest-ranked Ohio city in the Milken report was Toledo, which finished 198th – just ahead of Detroit and Flint, Mich.

run by Tom Noe Republicans like Bob Reichert and disgraced Finkbeiner Democrats like John Irish. That’s not what I call independence."

It seems as if some politicians have taken a page from the strategy of Teamwork Toledo.
Endorsed Democrats Joe McNamara, Adam Martinez, Terry Biel, and Aji Green have banded together to spread their message of change and new ideas. They call themselves "Hungry4Change."
They will be campaigning together throughout the city.
McNamara, Martinez, and Biel are endorsed Democrats for Toledo City Council At-Large; Green is an endorsed Democrat for the Toledo Board of Education.

The Toledo Blade is reporting:
The Lucas County Board of Elections has 1,092 ballots that could be added to last week's Toledo primary election count, putting the final results for Toledo City Council in doubt.
The additional ballots include 166 absentee ballots accidentally left uncounted last Tuesday, Director Linda Howe said Monday.
She said two employees, a Republican and a Democrat, have received reprimands in their files and have come up with procedures to avoid a recurrence of the neglected ballots.

As Toledo City Councilman George Sarantou told Toledo Free Press Sept. 5, “We are in a fiscal emergency, and we would like permission from voters to use Capital Improvement Funds (CIP) for safety.”
We believe Toledo voters should give council that permission by voting “yes” on Issue 1 on Sept. 15.
We maintain great respect for councilman Tom Waniewski and councilwoman Lindsay Webb in their efforts to reduce government through passage of Issue 2, but we disagree with their stance.
To The Right Of Attila The Hun, Collins And Moody On WSPD Wednesday
On Wednesday morning Mike Collins and Jim Moody join me for interviews about thier runs for Mayor. They had some tough words for each other in the Toledo Free Press debate earlier and we'll talk about that and some of the new things both are saying now that the election is just a week away.
IF THE AVERAGE PERSON SEXUALLY ASSAULTS SOMEONE, YOU GET THROWN UNDER THE JAIL AND MUST REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER! IF A MEMBER OF TPD DOES IT...THEY GET 3 MONTHS AND COMMUNITY SERVICE!
Is there corruption among the ranks of the Toledo Police Department?
Sgt. Brandon was put back on the police force by an arbitrator after being fired, and is in trouble again after he called a woman a ho, and would not file her police report.
Read about that here:
http://abclocal.go.com/wtvg/video?id=6996832
And now former Toledo officer only gets three months behind bars with 5 years probation, after he put his hand down women's pants and touched and rubbed their private areas, while he was conducting traffic stops.

The Lucas County Republican Party yesterday announced its slate of endorsed candidates for the six at-large Toledo City Council seats and the mayoral seat.
Jim Moody has been endorsed for the mayoral race.
For the council race:
Mark Clark, Jeff Cromwell, Rob Ludeman, George Sarantou, Hans Schnapp, and Constatine Stamos.
Well, I thank Jon Stainbrook for endorsing these candidates, now I know who I WON'T vote for!
Rob Ludeman? Yea right....Toledo needs a change, and he did nothing when he was on council before. We need to move Toledo forward, not backwards!

Right Wing Propogandist Hosts YMCA Friday Morning On WSPD 7am
Friday morning I host the two heads of the YMCA/JCC for an hour long interview about the South YMCA. Robert Alexander, Pres. CEO, and Paul Schlatter head of the Board of Directors will be on to give us the final update on "the deal" and the future of the South Y location. Did the constant barrage of negative coverage hurt fundraising? What happens after three years? Is what Alexander makes important to the story?
Should be fun.
Ben Konop Receiving Threats - IS WSPD Involved?
Armed deputy guards are providing security for Mayoral Candidate Ben Konop. According to an article in the Toledo Blade as well as being reported by WTOL News, WSPD radio host Brian Wilson broadcasted Konop's personal cell phone number over the air.
In addition, a man approached Konop inside Government Center, and he had a knife in his waist band.

Mayoral and Council Candidates - DON'T MAKE BALLOT!
The Toledo Blade is reporting that Mayoral Candidate Don Gozdowski will not be on the ballot. He missed the required number of valid signatures to qualify for the September primary. Don submitted 873 signatures but only 634 were ruled valid.
Mayoral candidates needed to have 750 valid signatures to be on the ballot.
Another thing that is interesting is that the "major" mayoral candidates barely made the ballot as well.
Collins had 752 ruled valid.
Moody had 754 ruled valid.
Wilkowski had 760 ruled valid.
Konop had 762 ruled valid.
Bell had 773 ruled valid.

Steam Plant Update: Huge Legal Delays and Taxes Go Unpaid
The Toledo Blade article on June 20th, 2008:
http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080620/NEWS16/80...
... reported that the plan for the Steam Plant development was being scaled back due to the housing market being so bad. I grew curious about the lawsuit that the City of Toledo filed against the organization that Jackson and Ball had started (Water Street Station Development LLC), and so with the kind assistance of Michelle in the Clerk's office of the Lucas Co. Common Pleas court, I finally located the case:

Iranian Turnmoil & Why I agree with Pres. Obama and Sen Kerry
Yes I know it doesn't happen often but I agree with President Obama and Sen. Kerry on the way we are handling Iran during the protests.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/18/opinion/18kerry.html?ref=opinion
Shocking I know. Because it's not often that I can say I agree with these two and not with majority of Republicans but I feel since the begining of his Presidency this is the first time, on a foreign policy issue, where Pres. Obama has operated as I hoped he would.

This is one of the smartest books of the decade! It is thoughtful, entertaining and enlightening. Written by an investment industry “insider”, the author reveals industry weaknesses and hidden secrets,-notably how they pile on fee after fee, effectively lowering investor’s returns by up to 80%. I can warmly recommend this book to any person interested in improving the return on his or her investment portfolio performance. Kneisley’s thoughts are in line with academic research.
