Toledo, OH – Yesterday, Mark Sobczak submitted his resignation as President and an At-Large member of Toledo City Council. The resignation will take effect following the City Council meeting on June 23.
Teamwork Toledo member Kevin Milliken will seek the unexpired term being vacated by Toledo City Council President Mark Sobczak, who tendered his resignation earlier today.
“There has never been a more appropriate time for an independent voice to assist Toledo City Council in its efforts to reduce the current deficit, balance the budget, and restore our public safety forces to full capacity,” Milliken said.

Dear Mr. Dendinger,
It is with a strong sense of optimism for Toledo's future that I tender my
resignation as President and an At-Large member of Toledo City Council.
This resignation takes effect following the City Council meeting on June 23.
During my three-and-a-half-years on City Council, I have sought to be a
voice for labor and to bring about a successful blending of the needs of my
fellow union brothers and sisters with the needs and wants of the city's
residents. I hope time will show this approach has been successful.
As noted by George Joyce at the American Thinker, in his speech in Cairo while sucking up to the Muslim world, President Obama made the statement, "Given our interdependence, any world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will inevitably fail.”
Affirmative action promotes minorities over the majority simply because of racial and ethnic status. Effectively, affirmative action is telling minorities that they are too stupid to make on their own and they need outside help to make anything out of their lives.
It's good to see Obama realizes this and is coming around on the issue.
CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday that he and Cuban ally Fidel Castro risk being more conservative than U.S. President Barack Obama as Washington prepares to take control of General Motors Corp.
OK. I am trying to keep an open mind about our President, but if he says one more time he "inherited" the problem I am going to puke. I don't care where the problem came from just fix it. This guy spends too much time on PR and not enough time running the country.
And for the record Mr President - what you inheritied was at the very least was liberal economics - but I am willing to meet you half way and say it was both the republicans and the democarts that started this mess.
What you inherited is now your job to fix. Be a leader.

The U.S. government is pouring billions into General Motors in hopes of reviving the domestic economy, but when the automaker completes its restructuring plan, many of the company's new jobs will be filled by workers overseas.
According to an outline the company has been sharing privately with Washington legislators, the number of cars that GM sells in the United States and builds in Mexico, China and South Korea will roughly double.
More than 300 auto workers rallied in Kenosha Monday night, booing Chrysler’s decision to close their engine plant and urging President Obama and Chrysler to reverse the move.

Witnesses reported seeing the plane circle over the Upper New York Bay near the Statue of Liberty. The huge aircraft, which functions as Air Force One when the president is aboard, was taking part in a classified, government-sanctioned photo shoot, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

"First-term congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) believes that President Obama’s energy reform policy means that Obama “has declared war on Ohio and Indiana.” Latta, who won his seat with the support of $34,250 in oil and gas money, claimed that setting standards for global warming pollution is tantamount to a military invasion of his state.

"Now that the President's outrageous spending plan has been revealed we
must focus on massive cuts to the budget to bring this plan anywhere
close to a reasonable dollar amount. This budget plan does nothing more
than dump trillions of dollars on our future generations in debt
payments so that we can fund new government programs right now. As we
speak, families across the country are forced to make tough decisions
