Former TPS Administrator Ordered Probes of Private Citizens Investigations Occurred at Taxpayer Expense

The former business manager at Toledo Public Schools hired a private investigation firm at taxpayer expense to look into the backgrounds of five people who were private citizens at the time, including three people who would eventually be elected to the TPS board of education.

As temperatures begin to dip across Northwest Ohio, the Greater Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and Columbia Gas of Ohio have joined together to urge families to make sure their home heating systems are operating properly, and to be cautious when using space heaters and other heating sources.

The upcoming Toledo mayoral election will determine if John Robinson Block, The Blade publisher and editor-in-chief, retains his dominant impact on direction and control of affairs in the city. Block needs an individual in the mayor’s office who will obey his direction. Lucas County Commissioner Ben Konop is a politician and mayoral candidate that offers the newspaper and Block a chance to increase their power and control.

WASHINGTON- During today's markup of the Labor, Health and Human
Services Appropriations bill, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green)
was successful in re-directing $10 million of funding towards pediatric
cancer research and eradication efforts through a manager's amendment.
Congressman Latta worked with Congressman Tom Cole (R-OK), a member of
the Appropriations Committee, to ensure the funding was included in the
manager's amendment.

The $10 million was re-directed from the Department of Health and Human
Services' administrative budget and directed to the National Cancer

Former Obama for America field organizer Chip Collis has been named Campaign Manager for the Mike Bell for Toledo campaign.

Collis worked as an Obama Organizing Fellow in Toledo and then became manager of the Obama campaign offices in Defiance and Williams counties. There, he produced the largest gains over the John Kerry 2004 vote total among all Ohio counties.

Collis will oversee all field operations for the Bell campaign, including direct voter contact, volunteer organization, scheduling, data base management and headquarters operations.

Perrysburg, Ohio (December 22, 2008) - Black Swamp Conservancy, a Perrysburg, Ohio-based land conservation organization, has announced that it has matched a challenge grant the conservancy received from Toledo Community Foundation.

The conservancy was awarded a $50,000 grant from Toledo Community Foundation earlier this year. The grant allowed Black Swamp Conservancy to hire a stewardship manager.
