I was talking to a staff member . I live about a mile from the zoo. New ( and highly paid) director Ann Baker has made many changes to the zoo. Animal exhibits are being downsized. Animals that die are not being replaced- gorilla , many more. Animals are given to other zoos with no animal in exchange - one giraffe, many more.
Members are asking about some of the missing favorites -example, the komodo dragon - It's gone!

25 Mistakes of Obama's First 100 Days
From Darrin Moore's Notes on Facebook...
I'd be interested in hearing a liberal's side of the argument why these choices are not mistakes but are actually smart moves on Obama's part. Help me understand.
1. Offended the Queen of England
2. Bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia
3. Praised the Marxist Daniel Ortega
4. Kissed Hugo Chavez on the cheek
5. Endorsed the Socialist Evo Morales of Bolivia
6. Announced we would meet with Iranians with no pre-conditions
7. Gave away billions to AIG, also without pre-conditions
8. Expanded the bailouts

Sobczak says Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority runs airports well
Toledo City Council President Mark Sobczak shied away yesterday from the city taking over operations of Toledo Express Airport and Metcalf Field - one of four options proposed by the director of both airports.
"I think the city is probably not best suited to run the airports," Mr. Sobczak said. "The port authority has been doing a good job."
Eric Frankl, Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority's director of airports, told council it must make a decision on the airports' long-term governance and ownership within six months.
Finkbeiner shuffles legal execs; 'lateral move' is mutual, spokesman says
The Toledo law director and the No. 2 lawyer for the city had their jobs switched yesterday by the Finkbeiner administration - which insisted the shuffle was a "lateral move."
John Madigan - who in January, 2006, was named acting law director and installed permanently in the post at the end of that year - is now general counsel for the city.
