On Saturday, May 23rd at approximately 2:15 a.m. after a short pursuit involving 2 motorcyclists, Ottawa Hills Police Officer Thomas White conducted a traffic stop involving motorcyclist Michael McCloskey. Shortly thereafter, Mr. McCloskey was shot by Officer White. Mr. McCloskey was transported to the Toledo Hospital for medical care. The other motorcyclist was taken into custody without incident by a second Ottawa Hills Police Officer.

TOLEDO, Ohio - A unarmed motorcyclist allegedly shot in the back by an Ottawa Hills police officer, paralyzed and severely burned during a traffic stop filed a civil suit yesterday in U.S. District Court against the officer and the village where the incident took place on May 23.
