Mike Bell
Bell, Herwat, and Monske oh my!!!
Less than a month in office and Mike Bell wants a tax hike
I'm sorry Toledo, but Mike Bell made his bones as a democrat. I don't know why he didn't choose to run as a democrat, but I never believed that he wouldn't govern as one. Today he asked those of you left in the city who actually pay income taxes to pay more. From 2.25% to 2.5%. But it's only "temporary".

Bell won't put his name on city signs; new mayor starts to examine needs
Wow this is great Bell won't put his name on City signs. Now that is a positive change.
====
Mike Bell said he would leave his ego out of his new job as mayor and motorists could be the first ones to see signs of him making good on that promise.
Aside from beginning the massive task of handling a predicted $40 million general fund deficit, Mayor Bell on his first full day at work yesterday said he would replace the city's entry point signs with new ones that don't bear his name.

Are You Sssssssssssure Conservatism's Dead?
Not only did Conservatives rout all major, as well as minor out of state elections, conservatism won in Toledo. Even liberal powerbroker Marcy couldn't get super-liberal Wilkowski a win, over a much more conservative Mike Bell. This is of course an after effect of a President whose Hope and Change message, has become a Whine and Moan message. And with that, there goes what little support HE has in Congress! All I can say is---HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Pride versus Humility
Sometimes pride gets in the way of being able to partake fully in things we as human beings want to do. What my parents told me was, "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face." I am such a holder of grudges that it is difficult for me to forgive and forget, especially if the offender has not apologized or even acknowledged that they were being offensive.

This week I released a revised copy of my platform, which outlines the specific steps I will take as mayor to make Toledo a high-functioning city again.

Vote For Bell-Send Marcy A Message.
I see voting for Mike Bell as a win-win situation. First, he is by far the most qualified person for the job. Period. Second, by doing so, I can also send Marcy a clear message as to how I, and I'm sure many others on this site agree, feel about her support of business as usual in Washington. Think about the following: trillions given to bankers, stock brokers, various other bailouts, Bushs' rich friends, more troops being sent to the Middle East, and oh yes-->jail time for those who don't want to be covered by health insurance that she can opt out of. And that's for starters.

THE TOLEDO FREE PRESS ENDORSES MAYORAL CANDIDATE
The Toledo Free Press Endorses Mayoral Candidate Mike Bell.
There is a world of difference between leading through intimidation and leading through inspiration. Mike Bell is the best of a great field of candidates because he understands that difference.
Bell literally put his life on the line for Toledo, and he has parlayed the respect and experience he earned into a career that took him to Columbus as the state’s fire marshal. He is a proven leader with experience at the top of city government, and no one else has that the inside view.

Bell, Wilkowski Enter The "Lair Of Rush Limbaugh" On Thursday
Mayoral candidates Mike Bell and Keith Wilkowski will be on with me in the morning for final interviews before the primary on next Tuesday. The "lair" line comes from young Ben Konop who on his first scary visit to WSPD uttered those immortal words.
College Students Demand To be Heard at Campus Mayoral Debate
The University of Toledo College Democrats and College Republicans will be hosting a Toledo Mayoral debate September 2nd at 7:00 PM in the Student Union Ingman Room. The Toledo community is welcome to this event and the debate will focus on issues that are important to University students.
Opal Covey Will Be Our Next Mayor
After seeing the poll that was posted here on Swampbubbles showing Ms. Covey leading with 59% of those responding I think I can safely say there is momentum moving in her direction. The people of Toledo are finally fed up with politics as usual and are expressing their frustration. My prediction for the final results of the Toledo mayoral primary is the top two vote-getters will be Opal Covey and Mike Bell. In the final matchup in November Opal Covey will defeat Bell handily. I wonder if jr of TT has come to the same conclusion?
