BOWLING GREEN- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) will hold media availabilities on Monday, February 1st before his Courthouse Conferences in Lucas and Wood Counties.

The Courthouse Conferences will provide constituents with an opportunity to sit down with Congressman Latta one on one to discuss issues that are important to them, their families, and communities. Congressman Latta’s district staff will also be in attendance to assist with casework or issues regarding Federal government agencies.

WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) recently co-sponsored H Res. 847, sponsored by Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-FL), which calls for the ongoing health care negotiations to be conducted with media coverage available to the American public.

Congressman Latta has also signed a discharge petition on H Res. 847. The discharge petition, after gathering 218 signatures, would force a roll call vote on the resolution.

One has to wonder why Marcy complains about China owning a bunch of our debt when she 1. gets 3.5 billion to vote yes on cap-and-trade, 2. raises the debt limit to continue to finance out-of-control spending. But who ever said she made sense? Bob Latta does not support raising the cap, below is his reason.

WASHINGTON- Yesterday, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) and seven Republican members of the Ohio Congressional Delegation sent a letter to Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and asked him to establish a bipartisan, independent oversight board to review how stimulus funds are being spent in Ohio. A copy of the letter can be found here. This is the second letter sent to Governor Strickland calling for such a board to be created.

WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) will host a Citizens Forum on Monday, November 23rd from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the Upper Sandusky High School Auditorium located at 800 North Sandusky Street, Upper Sandusky.

WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) announced that on Wednesday, October 28th, President Barack Obama signed the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law which included TRICARE legislation Congressman Latta authored.

Congressman Latta’s TRICARE language was amended into the NDAA for Fiscal Year 2010 during debate in the House and Senate.

Letter to House Financial Services and Small Business Committees Asks for Hearings to Examine the State of Lending to Small Businesses

WASHINGTON- Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) sent a letter to House of Representatives Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-MA) and House Small Business Committee Chairwoman Nydia Velázquez (D-NY) requesting a joint committee hearing on the state of lending to small businesses in the United States.

WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) made the following statement on the Fiscal Year 2010 Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill Conference Report. The Conference Report included language that Congressman Latta previously worked to get amended into the bill to prevent spring-open assisted knives from being classified as switchblades under a proposed regulation from the Department of Homeland Security.

BOWLING GREEN- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) will host an informational meeting regarding the United States Military Service Academy nomination and appointment process for the 2010 academic year.

The informational meeting will take place from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Monday, September 21st at Napoleon High School, located at 701 Briarheath Drive.
