FEMA turns down OH federal assistance request for June 6 tornadoes

(WTOL) - FEMA has turned down the disaster declaration for the State of Ohio following three tornadoes on June 5 and 6.

That means there will be no federal funding for residents and for clean-up efforts after the tornadoes struck Fulton, Ottawa and Wood Counties.

LATTA JOINS HOUSE REPUBLICANS IN CALLING FOR TRANSPARENT HEALTH CARE NEGOTIATIONS

WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) recently co-sponsored H Res. 847, sponsored by Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-FL), which calls for the ongoing health care negotiations to be conducted with media coverage available to the American public.

Congressman Latta has also signed a discharge petition on H Res. 847. The discharge petition, after gathering 218 signatures, would force a roll call vote on the resolution.

Kaptur says yes to raising debt limit, Latta says no

One has to wonder why Marcy complains about China owning a bunch of our debt when she 1. gets 3.5 billion to vote yes on cap-and-trade, 2. raises the debt limit to continue to finance out-of-control spending. Latta Calls for Oversight Board to Review Stimulus Spending in Ohio

WASHINGTON- Yesterday, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) and seven Republican members of the Ohio Congressional Delegation sent a letter to Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and asked him to establish a bipartisan, independent oversight board to review how stimulus funds are being spent in Ohio. A copy of the letter can be found here. This is the second letter sent to Governor Strickland calling for such a board to be created.

Congressman Latta’s TRICARE language was amended into the NDAA for Fiscal Year 2010 during debate in the House and Senate.
