The White House wants the nation's largest financial institutions to repay taxpayers for the costs of bailing out banks and automakers.

Under the proposal, the largest 50 banks -- including GMAC Inc. -- would pay $90 billion over 10 years to cover taxpayer losses under the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program.

"Warren "Gator" Taylor was tired of driving, so he pulled off the interstate in this Blue Ridge Mountain town to buy gas and food. The Tennessee man had been angry at the government for months, even years, federal officials said Thursday, and this seemed like as good a place as any to use the handguns and mock explosives he had packed in his beloved red pickup.

The gunman said he had no money, and his 2007 red Dodge diesel pickup truck was about to be repossessed. Mostly, he railed against the government — high taxes, gun control, and President Barack Obama.

I havent seen DBA post on here in a while, and when I a friend of mine was describing Luke 10:18 to me, I thought it was intriguing and thought of DBA. In Luke 10:18, Jesus is talking to his disciples and the passage says, "And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven." (KJV)

Translated into the Hebrew, lightning is translated as Barack (with different spelling) and, you guessed it, the Hebrew translation for the last part of the phrase is Obama (with different spelling).

In the Hebrew, Satan is the same as the english, but with different pronouncement.

Strickland governs frugally

A recent headline in The Blade read: "Jobless rate soars to highest since 1983." The Blade's editorial followed, challenging Gov. Ted Strickland to create jobs or beware of his re-election.

The Blade's editorial writer should be smarter than that. And fairer than that.

If George Bush and Barack Obama, with all their clout, can't create private sector jobs, how can a governor be expected to do so?

President Barack Obama and Governor Strickland asked that all public building's flags be flown at half mast in remembrance of the Fort Hood Massacre. I am assuming that Toledo public school buildings are public buildings, yet all of the buildings that I have been seeing, since the edict went out, are all flying their flags as usual.

WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) announced that on Wednesday, October 28th, President Barack Obama signed the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law which included TRICARE legislation Congressman Latta authored.

Congressman Latta’s TRICARE language was amended into the NDAA for Fiscal Year 2010 during debate in the House and Senate.

WASHINGTON — Congress' chief budget officer is contradicting President Barack Obama's oft-stated claim that seniors wouldn't see their Medicare benefits cut under a health care overhaul.

The head of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, Douglas Elmendorf, told senators Tuesday that seniors in Medicare's managed care plans would see reduced benefits under a bill in the Finance Committee.

The bill would cut payments to the Medicare Advantage plans by more than $100 billion over 10 years.

If President Barack Obama gets what he wants in his health care plan — covering all Americans and barring insurers from denying coverage — some analysts say individuals could wind up paying higher premiums.

The Obama plan would impose new costs on insurance companies, which would probably then raise the prices customers pay for coverage. Employers also would likely pass on some of their higher costs to employees.
