Vote early, vote often. Lets get these hags out so this country can get back on the right track.

TPS and the budget crisis

All I hear is TPS needs to close this school, lay off these teachers, cut those extracurricular activities. The one thing I do not hear from the people that run the school and supposedly care for our kids is that they are taking a cut in pay. I am sure that the jobs could be filled by someone that is willing to get paid less to do the job just so our children could have a better education. I feel if anyone in the administration off makes more than $100,000 in a year is well overpaid and needs to think about the kids first before they think about their pocketbook.

NOT AGAIN, First It Was We Found A Million (Carty) , Then It Was We Found 874,000, (TPS) Now Its We Found 873,000 Lucas Co Dog W

WoW! We either have a bunch of crooks running this city or a bunch of incompetent crooks running this city. This is ridiculous; it’s time to stop giving our money to these people, i.e. Levies. Start calling council members, and commissioners, and start voicing your concerns. This is bulls#it, you just don’t find a million dollars or 874’000 dollars, or 873’000 dollars. This is why we are called brain dead morons in Toledo.

How many taxpayers are willing to with hold all taxes for two years to protest government spending. Federal,State and Local

TPS Pulls A Carty..Oh Look We Found 824,000 Dollars...

Toledo Public Schools says we found 824,000 dollars that wasn't recorded. Hell no it wasn't recorded until they heard about an audit. But wait lets here what McCaskey, Purhrt, Pinkslip, and Wolfie have to say before they vote for the 7.8 million dollar levy that the TPS wants so they can continue to have accounting irregularities..

TPS's Rhetoric and Reality: Coffee with the Fords, presents Lisa Sobecki TPS board member.

"Coffee with the Fords" presented an interesting guest today, none other than Toledo Public School Board Vice President Lisa Sobecki (soccer mom, democratic something or other and Boy Scout leader) discussing the upcoming levy that will put more money into the coffers of TPS.

When will it end?

Toledo Public Schools voters to decide on 7.8-mill levy in November. Declining population, declining enrollment, brand new schools paid for by the tobacco industry. Why do they need more money? They should be down sizing and cutting pay/benefits like the private sector does in bad times. I suppose if they could print money like the Federal Government that would solve the problem.

Does It Really Matter Who is the TPS Superintendent?

It really does not matter who is the superintendent of the Toledo Public School System as long as none is willing to stand up against the TFT and the Lawrences. None of the entities that could make a difference in the school system is willing to engage the TFT in a battle to make any changes benefiting students or even their own rank and file.

They would rather lay off fellow union brother's and sister's than take a larger paycut that would not impact them any more than people working in the private sector have been impacted.

Can we solve our own problems in the world?

No, man can't do it alone, we need God, and the meaning of the Constitution.

TPS Board Members lack of public communication

Just got off the phone with TPS board member Bob Vasquez. We (family, friends, block) have been trying to have communication with the TPS board since November 2009 having sent some 153 e-mail messages and well over 30 phone calls. After some 6 months and after the levy failed then they want to finally meet with us. Can you belive that? We begged for communication and a meeting long before the levy vote and they wait until after the levy fails to see that we did have power and now they want to meet with us.

TPS Sub-Contractor Policy

TPS is supported by Federal Tax dollars, State Tax dollars and local resident property taxes, monies extorted from all the citizenry. When TPS subcontracts work it posts the project on “citybots” (not certain of the name), a TPS website, for any and all to bid on the projects. Well, not really for everyone because only those belonging to a union can bid. A school system totally supported by all taxpayers and local property owners does not permit its' non-union residents, that would be at least 80% of the population, the opportunity to bid on these projects.

STEM Education: Critical Partnerships for the 21st Century

Our region's next generation needs to be prepared to live and work in a world where an understanding of science and technology can make the difference between success and failure. A local commitment to increase the focus on STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) will make today's students more globally competitive as working adults, and Northwest Ohio will thrive. WGTE Public media, WBGU TV27, UT3, Ohio STEM Learning Network and the National Governors Association, present a special televised Town Hall on Thursday, May 13 at 8:00 p.m.

Toledo Journal looks at difference between cuts and where they are talking about them

Journal talks about how the cuts will effect the central city the hardest and why they are taking their case to a different audience.
===

They propose shutting down the mostly black Libbey High School, ''consolidating'' two central-city elementary academies that serve a nearly all African American enrollment, and killing off a unique high school whose mostly black students earn college credits.

2/23/10 TPS Board Meeting notes

These notes were graciously sent by Darlene Fisher

===
TPS Board sorts through the big issues:

1) Budget and Cost Cutting – Board will be meeting on March 3rd at 5:30 to review the list of budget cuts. Then they will hold a public hearing surrounding those cuts on March 15 or 17 at Start High School. Cuts will be adopted at the March 23rd meeting.

Exclusive: TPS's first TV income tax levy commercial titled "It will get ugly"

Given this was sent to me from someone at the production house, it is missing the disclaimers, the intro and the ending. I am told the intro segment will say, "Don't let things get ugly." Then the normal exit segment, "Vote for the Toledo Public School levy in May" with the normal campaign committee disclaimers at the end. Makes the point doesn't it?

TPS says cuts to be "ugly", help make TPS beautiful again

This past week, I threatened to bring http://ideasfortps.com back to life after the host switchover this past summer and make it safer from spammers and now the Toledo Public Schools needs it more than ever especially trying to toss an almost 1% income tax increase on all of us. I uploaded some of the older ideas. I was not able to recover anything, but it is now open for business for you to submit your own idea and vote and comment on the ideas that are posted on there. If you have a great idea, you can now submit it there.
