Toledo City Council

She was chided in the council meeting for spending money on decorating her office when Toledo has a 50 million deficit problem. Her response "Its in the budget".

These fools on City Council voted for these union contracts urged on by Carty Finkbender.

I find it ironic that City Council is upset with the fact the Police and Fire employees are cashing in their comp time. Its in their contract and they are entitled to it. If City Council did not want them to have it why did the council members approve the contract? Who can blame them to take it now with the city heading toward receivership and bankruptcy.

This is a good thing. Toledo will go into receivership and we can start over. Its the only way the financial problems will be solved. There are not enough taxpayers in Toledo to support the current infer structure so something has to happen. It will be painful for awhile especially for the city workers but it has to be done. Prolonging the situation will just make matters worse. Hopefully, some of the city elected officials will be replaced with ones that will act for the good of the city and not for their own self interests.

President-elect Barack Obama is pushing a massive federal investment in "green jobs." He speaks about these jobs as if they are something new under the sun. If it could, the sun would probably laugh at such hyperbole.

Boy. You want to talk about some arduous work. Long, hot days going door to door, talking with with people at festivals, attending civic gatherings, and a litany of many other small things that paid off in the end.

The PFC Campaign will be reeling in the petitions at the end of this week. They will be notarized and turned in to the Lucas County Board Of Elections within about a week.

My bad new at this. I stand behind my earlier statement. Some of the candidates are sounding like teamwork toledo this go round. Yes its true others have tried this approach. But the problem was the machine ate them up. Of course I'll have my support and the others will have thiers. So anyone is open for criticism. I'm out here giving to you how I fell. Like it or not. I was born and raised in Toledo. I decided to do something worth while once I graduated College. I thought it would be important to save our veterans history in the area. Now 50 interviews later I feel we are beginning to turn out a good product of education for future generations.

We interviewed 18 veterans at West Park Place senior living center in Toledo, and had a large presentation with a video to show the veterans and their families. We figured Memorial Day weekend would be a wonderful time to honor our veterans, and all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
