Toledo Public School Board Meeting-Transparency Where?

I witnessed the Toledo Public School Board of Education meeting tonight and it was a barrel of laughs, around the "horseshoe" many concerns by myself and other spectators and maybe violations of the sunshine laws, by the board members. But then what do you expect, that was how Three for Children was born, Larry Sykes (he's baacck), Deborah Barnett and Steve Steel.

THE RIDDLE HAS BEEN SOLVED BUT WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG?

Why did it take so long to expose Steve Riddle as a person of unsavory character? There were numerous signs, warnings and charges filed against him and staff members at Leverette who were preying on not only the children but women also.

Breaking News: UPDATED: Steve Riddle principal of Leverette Middle School resigns.

It has been disclosed on 11News that Steve Riddle has resigned as principal of Leverette Middle School. Now maybe, depending on who they put in as principal, this school will have leadership that is pro children. Out with the child predators, in with the child educators giving the students safe passage to a successful life.

It took awhile to eliminate this principal, how many children were damaged in the process?

Breaking News: Steve Riddle principal of Leverette Middle School suspended pending investigation.

Steve Riddle, principal of Leverette Middle School was suspended with pay on Tuesday December 15, 2009 pending an investigation, the nature of which is unknown.

Response requested from Superintendent Foley - second request

Via e-mail from Steven Flagg:

For your information. Responses from John Foley to the original questions regarding the Scott auction are included in the text below. The auctions of TPS property have raised many questions within the Toledo community. Did they follow state law? Did we receive fair value for the property sold at these auctions? Why were property appraisals not completed for Scott and other auctions?

Mr. Foley,

Pickett Elementary should be closed down as a school and re-opened as a Laundromat.

The news concerning the Toledo Public school's Report card is very troubling to me, a parent of school age children, an advocate for children and parents and as a human being.

Toledo Public School Report Cards

I am wondering what the rational would be to withhold the TPS report cards issued by the state of Ohio. It is my understanding that the charter schools have received their report cards and I would assume that TPS also has theirs but is keeping them under wraps for whatever reason. I think if the report cards have been issued, that they should be made public as soon as possible. Why would TPS delay the reporting of how the district did as opposed to charter schools and other districts?
