Democratic Party and the Toledo Public School Board

The Democratic party in Toledo has pretty much sounded the death knell for Toledo Public Schools, along with the help of Republican party. For years the Democrats have run candidates for the school board that have no interest in making changes, improving academics, educating the populace or challenging the unions, especially the TFT. The Republicans have never run a credible candidate other than Chris Myers, when he ran with the "Three for Change." That was the closest Toledo came to actually saving TPS.

Toledo Public School's Actions Over the Past 15 Years Have Had a Chilling Effect on the Black Community.

September 30, 2010

Press Release:

Toledo Public Schools actions over the past 15 years have had a chilling effect on Toledo's black community.

Does It Really Matter Who is the TPS Superintendent?

It really does not matter who is the superintendent of the Toledo Public School System as long as none is willing to stand up against the TFT and the Lawrences. None of the entities that could make a difference in the school system is willing to engage the TFT in a battle to make any changes benefiting students or even their own rank and file.

They would rather lay off fellow union brother's and sister's than take a larger paycut that would not impact them any more than people working in the private sector have been impacted.

John Foley for another year.

It is unbelievable that the Toledo Board of Education would give John Foley another contract to destroy the public school system in Toledo, Ohio. What were they thinking?
The school system is in for some dark days and they need a leader that will make changes a priority, not a reactionary process.
