Ben Konop

Ben has decided to not run for another term, citing the "old boy's network" for not allowing his agenda to work. Will he actually go away, or is this an attempt at gathering sympathy to see if he would run again. I have a feeling he wouldn't have won if he were to run again. I was going to write about what I think of Ben Konop and some of his fresh "ideas", however, I think Maggie Thurber had a good discussion of this over at her Blog, Thurber's Thoughts.

People are telling me that JR Block threatened Democrat Party Chairman Redfern. Redfern was told that if Konop has an opponent in the primary everyone will suffer the consequences. Can anyone confirm this? What have you heard? JR wouldn't have done this without Konop's approval. It's despicable but I won't be surprised to learn that Konop is rigging his reelection through intimidation. And with Stainbrook's long-standing relationship with JR that our "leadership" is part of this.

Ben is being sued by a crash victim for injuries.

In the spirit of the Wilson interruption, Wonkette finds the Konop heckler video and wonders if Konop is running for high school president. Yes, old news, but it is interesting to see the Wonkette's observation. The Wonkette is a major DC blog and given some of the blog posts over the last 24 hrs, it seems like Max the Heckler will get another small bounce.

It's amazing that this woman has any respect in the community to be asked to appear on the show, and why would Carty agree to appear on a program with this crook?

Ben Konop's aunt and direct connection to the "good ole boys network" then said that back in the day she and others on council used to have a certain "camaraderie" and were in it for the "greater good."

Konop asks Youtube video be taken off Web

A video posted on Youtube.com showing Toledo mayoral candidate Ben Konop "fighting" a heckler who falls and rolls on an American flag was removed from the site less than a day after it was posted. The video posted Wednesday at 4:08 p.m, was titled "Ben Konop Kicks the Nachos Out of Hecklers."

The Children of Liberty held their second candidate forum tonight at the Sylvania Branch library in Sylvania Ohio. The candidates who spoke were Ben Konop, Kevin Milliken, and PREZ Washington. Other candidates in attendance were John Adams and Michael Watson. There were about 30 people at the event this evening.

Tonight at the Children of Liberty sponsored candidate forum, the issue was raised about Ben's stance on the township patrols. Ben said he was undecided on the issue but did blame Gerken for pushing the issue. He said that Gerken was aggressive and in my opinion pretty much left the impression it was his idea. Ben Konop himself said he was "undecided" and "still researching" the issue. Don Z of WSPD recorded Ben's presentation and Q and A and hopefully they will include this part in the video.
