WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) made the following statement after House Resolution 861, which supports the objectives and values associated with National Military Family Month, passed the House of Representatives.

Letter to House Financial Services and Small Business Committees Asks for Hearings to Examine the State of Lending to Small Businesses

WASHINGTON- Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) sent a letter to House of Representatives Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-MA) and House Small Business Committee Chairwoman Nydia Velázquez (D-NY) requesting a joint committee hearing on the state of lending to small businesses in the United States.

As Congress begins its August district work period, the House of Representatives continues to debate the health care proposal introduced by the House Democrat Leadership. H.R. 3200 is a massive overhaul of our nation's health care system that will put the federal government in control of the health care of millions of Americans.

LATTA STATEMENT ON PASSAGE OF CAP AND TAX LEGISLATION

WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) made the following
statement after H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act,
passed the House of Representatives this evening.

"I have firmly opposed Cap and Trade, also known as Cap and Tax, since
the legislation was first introduced. With today's vote, the House of
Representatives passed a bill that will establish the largest national
energy tax in history and eliminate 2 million jobs across our country.

Similar to previous debates this year, the Democrat majority filed a 300

American Energy Act

This week, House Republicans introduced the American Energy Act, an "all of the above" energy plan as an alternative to the Democrats misguided Cap and Trade (Tax) proposal that is currently under debate in the House of Representatives. The American Energy Act is based on three principles of increasing production of American-made energy, promoting alternative and renewable energy, and encouraging greater efficiency and conservation.

Kaptur votes against investigating her donations

In case you missed it, Marcy voted against HR 425 which called for an investigation into the donations the PMA Group gave to members of Congress and the earmarks the cleints received. Of course for those of you who need a reminder, Marcy's largest donor last election cycle was the PMA Group. 25 Democrats supported the resolution.
