... but we all can't have columns of our own to vent in like you do. We make do with blogs. Hmm. I wonder then if ... that's what he's afraid of?
I especially like this quote from his article:
and I quit picking that paper up because of him. During the election they printed a table with information about the candidates. He gave some of them snarky little nicknames and printed alot of unsubstantiated gossip directly ahead of the election.
I don't think a newspaper should engage in that kind of conduct. Ever. And certainly not anonymously.
If you're here to tell me it's my fault - you're right. I meant to do it. It was alot of fun. That's why I have this happy smile on my face.
"a murder of crows." What a beautiful play on words!
I say keep up blogs, etc. and whatever else gets the word out that open government is the law of the land.
Johnny, did you know that the TPS school board presidency is held by one person for one year and that Darlene Fisher was not ousted as you stated?
it's hardly factual. It's just a gossip column. I am just surprised that a paper would allow that level of crap to be published anonymously. I suppose that's the part that bothers me the most is that they print stuff that's not true or just interesting gossip in a paper and the people it's about can't even take the writer to task because they're anonymous.
Stinky.

I guess I don't rant and rave enough.

Johnny Dildo. I was just starting to get some admiration for the TCP, and then along came 'Johnny '(maybe really Paula Ross?).

In World War 2 we fought (and defeated) the Axis. Today we're afraid of cellphones, smokers, and cheeseburgers. It's about at the end, people.

'I used to have compassion, but they taxed it and legislated it out of existence.'
Well if Mr Hildo-whom I love by the way-knew of the research that shows the numbers of people who participate vs the number of people who just lurk, maybe he would not make such a simplistic observation.
and he doesn't even get the 3rd review gossip line right. Sadly Hildo posted stuff like the board ousted the President,,,,blah,,,,blah,,,,blah
When 10 seconds worth of research could have told this no-count, no-talent clown that there is an election EVERY YEAR.....
Just stupid for a weekly to put itself out on the limb for one writer like this. One writer who leaves them out to dry. (And published some very damaging mis-information on at least one occasion, IMO).

But LisaRenee, at least you've got the Toledo Free Press. Me? Nothing. Nada. Zip.
At age 59, I still haven't grown up. I'm still short at 5'4". I was the shortest guy throughout school and having been short all my life, people were always looking over me. I constantly get overlooked.
Heck, Johnny Hildo with his column in The City Paper, and even the Toledo Free Press, failed to report my candidacy for the State Board of Education last year.
But hey, at least I have my blog which while having been overlooked by the short-sighted Johnny was not overlooked by you, Glass City Jungle, and consequently was not overlooked by Blog It, Toledo! and the Toledo Free Press.

Well said, GZ.
Hildo do research - about the only thing Hildo does is gossip and some of that is not even right. But you are right Chris, just as in any activity there are only 5-10% of those that participate in some way that actually do so in an active fashion. If you have 100 members that actively post on this site, there are probably 1500-2000 that are reading what is being posted.
I also know that many members of the press from Blade reporters to radio talk show hosts read the blogs which means there is a chance that something posted here is picked up somewhere else. Thus making these blogs even more relevant with a broader audience. Hey didn't Hildo write about it and mention several blogs. More exposure and eventually more readers!
So Hildo, I think your comments make little sense in the overall context. But I do have to agree that the internet is making mainstream media sources such as the Blade less relevant!
The mystery of Hildo is part of the fun in people trying to decide who he or she might really be.
I know I thought it was funny when someone thought I could be Hildo. Eventually someone will discover who it really is or who "they" really are since it seems a good number of people think it's more than one person.
I personally enjoy reading Hildo, I've had quite a bit of fun with some of the columns like when Hildo said Steve Steel looked like Frank Zappa and Steve wrote back and suggested Father Guido Sarduci. I had quite a bit of fun writing about that...

I think we'll both be fine even if Hildo ignores us for the rest of our lives. Jack ignores both of us too so at least we are in good company.

ROFLMAO
You love me, I love you, we are one big happy family.
Ooooo wait, that's a different show. Now then, where did that song come from? hmmm.
Won't you be, won't you be my neighbor. Where's my sweater and sneakers?
May the bird of paradise fly up Johnny's nose. Just kidding. He tries his best, I'm sure.

Clowns to the left me, jokers to the right here I am stuck in the middle with you...
I like the idea of the Lisa and Roland show...Think Jack would come on?
:-)

We'll have to make sure that we invite Jack.
I wonder if he would respond to our invitation.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
