If so, I certainly hope this bickering (although I admit that it's coming primarily from Toledo) can stop for fear of FedEx throwing up their hands, saying 'enough is enough' - we're moving to Michigan.
If I were FedEx, I would move to Perrysburg just to get a reaction out of Carty.
This issue isn't about the citizens and it isn't about jobs. It's about city tax revenues that Carty wants. Moving 5 miles down the road isn't going to make people lose their jobs, but it will decrease the flow of income tax from the suburban residents to city coffers. I hope FedEx does whatever is in its best interest. Long term when companies do what is in their best interest they typically become stronger and better for the community. Actually, I don't think triples damage roads. While an overweight vehicle damages roads, axle weight is a much more important factor than gross tonnage. Triples don't add more axle weight. They add length and gross weight.
but will the streets be less safe if drivers have to deal with triples? Maybe I'm being a little too nervous, but do we increase the risk to drivers of other vehicles with these monsters sharing the street with them?
