There is a rumor going around that the Oregon Police Officer "Jeff Brown" stopped the drunk driver that killed all those people before the driver got to the taco bell that night AND let him go. You remember the officer was texting the bar owner that night. First, why when he was on duty was he texting. He should have been working. Earning his taxpayers dollars! It was a busy night and he was texting his friend, the owner of the Rodeo Bar. That in it's self is BS. Well, rumor has it that Officer Jeff Brown knew ALL about what was going on and stopped the Bar owners cousin and then let him go! I would think as a favor to him and or the bar owner. Lets remember that the bar owner and officer Jeff Brown are good close friends! I hear that the driver told officer Jeff Brown that he would just go get some food and go back to the hotel. And Officer Jeff Brown let him go as he had not radio-ed in the stop. Well we all know what happened next, don't we. Well, this Officer Jeff Brown is the Mayor's son. After you have researched this matter further, please post again and let us know what you know as fact, and on what information the facts are based, and who the sources of your information are. While it is a rumor, it would explain why the police & the Blade made a point of mentioning (and even looking for) the text message Jeff Brown had sent to somebody at the Rodeo Bar. Wnen I first read that in the Blade, it seemed out of place, & I wondered why a text message held any significance. Jeff Brown is a friend of the owners of the Rodeo Bar - he was even in photos on the myspace pages of the kid who caused the accident & the kids' brother (not removed). Some people had commented, prior to the accident & Rodeo Bar search warrent results, that he'd been 'bulking up' a lot over the last year or so - so when I read that police seized boxes of growth hormone & syringes, it made me do a double-take & wonder about a connection there. Also, it's been said that Officer Brown often parked his car in the Rodeo Bar parking lot (to check out cute girls, but again, that's a rumor).

This could get as interesting as the Karyn debacle, which for now has found it's place under the rug.

My last post had a typo - I meant that the photos of jeff brown on the myspace pages & the myspace pages had been removed (instead of 'not removed'). There's also been a couple of comments posted on other threads that say there aren't promotions available & nobody will be promoted - my guess, is that if there aren't any promotions made, it's because a questionable promotion would look shady now that all this has been made public (to cover marge brown's behind). But the mayor of Oregon has/had created a new job of Deputy Chief - a new position that would have made some of these new promotions possible. (Chief Gulch had requested a Deputy Chief for some time, and the mayor refused it - it'd have been somebody who could do the smaller, tedious tasks, that could free up the Chief to focus on more important tasks). From what I hear (from those who know), the Oregon police dept is in a mess right now, and will be worse because Officer Jeff Brown & his buddy, the new 'temporary' chief, don't know jack shit about being chief or how to run the dept, and they are power mad, and abusing their authority - & Officer Brown thinks he can get away with anything now, because his mama won't fire HIS ass..

If there is a grain of truth to any of this, I sure hope it's uncovered instead of swept under like most other things in our neck of the woods.
This just in - "Jeff was not on duty when that call came in. He had not clocked in yet and there was no way that he stopped that car before the accident."
...how long before actually clocking in does an officer have to be within the confines of the clocking in building?
Because if I'm doing my math correctly, it seems that Jeff could have crossed paths with Gagnon and texted Rodeo teasing them about drunk drivers even before clocking in.

Well, in my personal opinion, Both Jeff and his Mother the Mayor are just a piece of shit that should be flushed down the drain. They both should be run out of town in disgrace!
Jeff has no business being a patrolman let alone being promoted to anything! All this MARRIED officer does is drive through Rodeos parking lot to bs with people, & he goes into Baypark Hospital to flirt with the nurses DURING HIS SHIFT! Boy are tax dollars are being put to some good use. It was even so bad a few years ago there was an internal investigation about Jeff Browns conduct along with another officer how he was constantly in Baypark flirting with the nurses, they even pulled phone records of the city issued cell phone Jeff was using & it showed hours of calls in just one night to a particular nurse! Its good to know Baypark is well secured incase I have to go their one night!
