Majority of Republican Central Committee members recruited by Stainbrook didn’t vote in November Election

Does anyone think this was not the case? :)
=====
Republican Governor John Kasich and the Ohio GOP may not care that over half of the Lucas County Republican Party Central Committee (LCRP-CC) members recruited by Jon Stainbrook did not vote in the November General Election.

IRS Scammers Are Hilarious

Since the beginning of January I have received four phone calls from people claiming to be employees of the IRS telling me I need to pay several thousand dollars in back taxes or my property and savings will be confiscated and I will be fined $30,000 and sentenced to five years in jail. What makes this hilarious is that I don't owe any back taxes and the person calling me had a very pronounced East Indian accent. These IRS scammers must think us Americans are stupid.

The American Sniper: An American Tragedy

Saw the American Sniper last weekend. Sat through another Clint Eastwood version of America. Thought the movie a tragic mistake of American misadventure. Too many average Americans were destroyed by those who profited and had no sacrifice. I watched the movie through the eyes of an Iraqi. If it were an foreign invasion in this country and we were defending our country from foreign invaders the Iraqis would look like patriot heros.

Quote from New York Times article:

WASHINGTON — When Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky went to Kansas last year to campaign for Gov. Sam Brownback, he quietly requested a private meeting with the oil billionaire Charles G. Koch in his Wichita headquarters.

The senator’s pitch: Of all the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidates, he best reflects the views of Mr. Koch and his younger brother, David H. Koch.

Obama Is Outsmarting The Republicans Again

I listened to President Obama's State of the Union Address and couldn't stop laughing. The address reminded me of the strategy the Mongols used creating their empire. The Mongols would approach lands and give them two choices. They could surrender and become part of the Empire. If they surrendered they could keep their rulers, religions and cultures. If they refused to surrender they would be totally annihilated. It appears Obama is at the gates giving the Republicans this ultimatum. If the Republicans surrender Obama will go down in history as the most effective POTUS in history.

Follow-up: What the Sylvania School district is doing to address levy campaign issues

Back in November I followed up with the district to see what they put in place to address the problems with the Issue 3 campaign in 2014. Brad Rieger sent the following response:

We had legal counsel conduct a levy training at our Admin Team retreat this past August. Whenever we are on the ballot again, we'll do a similar session for the levy committee. I foresee a communication about levy protocols going out to all staff members at that time also.

"Fox News consistently pushes fears of government "land grabs" surrounding environmental regulations. But the network celebrated the recent court decision allowing TransCanada to force construction of the Keystone XL pipeline on private land -- with no mention of the threat to landowner rights.

Stand with cops? They could make it easier

Perhaps you have also heard the radio ad for a website called Stand With Cops (standwithcops.org). The purpose of the site is to encourage people to write messages of support for police.

As a kid, I was taught to respect policemen--I still do. But the police unions could sure make it easier for me to get motivated to support cops if they would stay out of politics.

The irony of the protests against the police is that most of the participants are people who vote Democrat--the liberals who think "we've got to feel sorry for these poor minorities because the cops are singling them out because of the color of their skin." Yet, ALL of the police unions support, fund and encourage their members to vote for Democrats. Be careful what you wish for.

amazon.com and the international traveler

I travel several times a year to New York City for business. I typically can't pack all of the items I need to bring (e.g. giveaways I distribute to customers, etc.) so we FedEx them to the hotel (a large hotel in Times Square).

On my first trip to NYC in 2015, I got to the hotel and went to the business office to pick-up my two boxes. I was told that there was a $10 fee for each box that the hotel accepted for me. That was new.

I talked to the hotel manager about this fee, and I found out an interesting thing is happening with international visitors to the Big Apple.

Ohio Wind Farms: The results

Quote from article:
The projects, known as Timber Road Wind Farm and Blue Creek Wind Farm, are still young. But, according to managers of both, they’re already performing.

“The (Blue Creek) project has delivered what we said it would,” said Dan Litchfield, senior project developer.
Production Results

That includes about $2.7 million in annual tax payments, $2 million annually in lease agreement payments, $600 million from the company that built the farm, and enough energy to power about 76,000 homes.

NYPD Arrests Down 66%!

Oh, my! The NYPD is virtually on strike. Arrests for minor crimes are down 94%, and overall they are down 66%. You have to be careful what you ask for--you just might get it. Criminals in this country should incorporate, and then sell shares to the public!

The Most Important Voting Block In 2016

Tagged:

The most important block of voters will be who, in 2016? Some say the minority block. Others claim it will be the "undecided vote", while still others say it will be the "youth vote". They're all wrong. The most important vote will be the "stupid vote", if it isn't already. The democrats' party even boasts about it. If the Republicans can pry 10-15% of this block loose, IMHO they will win it all in 2016.

The scourge of term limits

I am posting a link to a recent article in the Detroit Free Press. One of the most significant issues with which it deals is the issue of term limits for elected officials. The writer purports that partisan redistricting and term limits have severely limited the ability of Michigan's voters to affect their government.
IMHO the same applies to Ohio voters and Ohio state government. I have often stated that the only thing term limits truly accomplish is to limit the choices voters have for elected offices. But this writer puts in into the context of the real situation in Michigan today.
