Rich Kinder is the founder of energy giant Kinder Morgan. His analysis of the current investment environment, I admit, parallels my own. But (very) Rich Kinder has much better credentials than do I. There are very knowledgeable people who disagree with (very) Rich Kinder. No one is infallible.
Carson is an idiot and Trump, Cruz, Rubio and Bush are mad men. Kasich was the only candidate who appeared to be sane or knowledgeable. The rest of them are an embarrassment to the country, especially Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. Rubio needs Batman to team up with so he can play his role as the Boy Wonder. Carson should consider auditioning for a remake of the movie Lost in Space. The Republican debates are a joke, except it shows us that Kasich is the only candidate qualified to be the Republican nominee.
The past few years have been very good for United Technologies. The contractor does billions of dollars a year in business with the federal government. CEO Gregory Hayes pulled down nearly $10 million in 2014, and over $20 million the year before. On Thursday, the company reported $7.6 billion in profits, up from $6.2 billion the year before, and $5.7 billion the year before that. In October, United Technologies even expanded its stock buyback program to $12 billion. Spending the company's money to purchase its own stock elevates the value of its share prices.
I don't do this often, but this time, it is worth it.
It is with great sadness that I have to inform all of you that GuestZero won't be posting here anymore. It is not because of his behavior or language, but I have been told he passed away yesterday. GZ was someone I got to know online and offline, and he was a nice guy and is not as caustic as he appears online. He went out of his way to help the community, even been known to apprehend a robber or two making where ever he lived safer.
Even though he was not as caustic in person, he still believed in everything he posted online. Knowing the full picture of who he was, I always smiled the way he said things. It would be almost in the same way as a comedian would make a point in a sarcastic way; he would make points in his way. He loved the area and loved the schools and wanted to make them better. He did go above and beyond armchair quarterbacking and did things to make the community better in person.
He will be missed on this site and in real life. Thank you for everything you shared with us. :(
If you have a story about GZ either online or offline, feel free to share it.
I'm a frequent user of the downtown library, known as the Main Branch. I'd noticed that the homeless are frequent 'users' of that branch too, but not for what I was using the branch for.
I'd never seen a bedbug until I went to the main library one fine day about 6 months ago. And that made sense, considering the place is an absolute haven for the homeless. They have lots of comfy chairs which the homeless fill. You couldn't pay me enough money to sit in one of those chairs now.
A couple of days ago, Thomas posted a story about Vicki Donovan-Lyle's tax delinquency for almost 2 years.
A couple of commenters mentioned about it not being much, so what is the big deal?
Here is why this is worse than it appears:
It's interesting that Trump has decided to broadcast his own venue instead of participating in the next debate. In my opinion, this move will doom his campaign because this clearly shows what type of incompetent POTUS he would be. So I say, Mr. Trump, take your ball and go home. He must have heard me because that is exactly what he is doing.
Vicki Donovan-Lyle, a Sylvania School Board Member, has apparently failed to pay her property taxes on her personal home at 4428 Tamworth Road in Sylvania, Ohio. In December 2015, Vicki Donovan-Lyle announced her candidacy for the Republican nomination to Ohio’s House District #47 to replace term-limited Representative Barbara Sears.
Have you heard or seen that American Petroleum Institute commercial telling you their has to be a balance? API is spending millions in Northwest Ohio media to convince you that fracking is safe. They give an image of an industry that works for the American good. This is false and anyone who has seen what the power of Oil & Gas has done to Eastern Ohio would be shocked. The industry is under attack from landowners across the state and county. The greed supersedes the will of property owners rights. The last three months local media has enjoyed a bonanza in ad revenue from big Oil & Gas.
16,000 pages about inequality at TPS ? How about under parented kids . Let's rate schools by parent participation
A settlement that accomplishes little .
Are we so scared of PC , that the truth can't be told ? Solve the parenting gap , you solve a lot
An election in which Donald ran against Bernie would be fascinating! Just think. On this Forum we would read one post after another, about why my old White man should be elected, instead of your old White man! Ha-Ha-Ha!
It appears that Sarah Palin has endorsed Donald Trump. I am so pleased that she did. She helped destroy one Presidential Campaign, now she gets a chance to do it again. Could you imagine Sarah Palin in Donald Trump's Cabinet?
On 2016 Jan 22 Fri 10 am, the contents of "Forrester's on the River" restaurant will be auctioned off as a total liquidation to satisfy debt. The auctioneer Pamela Rose Auction Company has posted that the sale will be "down to the walls" but there might be contention about that, regarding installations like the wooden bars and ventilation system.
Aren't the two ladies who both allege "The Slickmeister", aka Bill Clinton, both raped and assaulted them, entitled to press charges? Yet, women who allege Cosby raped them, as far back as 25 years ago, are? Talk about a double standard!!! I'm sure, as are all sane and intelligent people, Hillary would pardon him on her first day in office if(GOD FORBID)she were elected.

This should open some eyes! Since I'm middle age, this applies to me as well.

Happy 2016 everyone! I want to let you know that we have quietly passed the 9 year anniversary of the founding of this site which in Web years is really, really old (1/4/7 was the first post). Site to have 48 turbines when it’s running in 2017
Quote from article:
As Amazon.com Inc. moves forward with a billion-dollar project to build a trio of data centers in central Ohio for its web services subsidiary, the online retail giant will simultaneously develop a wind farm in Paulding County to help power them.
I have a reparation question(s). Would a million dollar check be subject to Taxes-federal, state, local? And also with regards to unpaid civil judgements, unpaid criminal fines, rent for people currently in custody, and so on? At least, since the bill for slavery would then be paid in full, one would be well advised not to automatically vote no on this issue w/o ALL these questions being answered beforehand. It might well be the best money the Country ever spent on anything.
