The online paper will be released to the public on Monday, March 31, 2008.
The name of the paper is called, "The Toledo View."

Conclusion: This is a bad start for expanding investigative reporting in Toledo. Hopefully it gets better, and it'll have to be much better at that.
It can't be that good if the site was put together using a Lycos sitebuilder.
Any "real" newspaper operating as a true business would not put up a half ass site to represent them. If so, they won't last long in business.
EDIT: Not to mention, real newspapers don't offer interviews unless its' some special section, they offer NEWS ARTICLES. So is this an E-ZINE or a NEWSPAPER?

I have read the first edition, thanks to inside contacts. It's great. It's a new kind of local journalism. The interviewees are prominent decision-makers and they are not allowed to duck the questions that all of us Toledoans would want to ask -- and demand answers for. Best of all about this on-line paper are the written descriptions of the physical contact when the politicians refuse to answer earnestly. The folks at this on-line paper take matters into their own hands. "Down goes Waniewski! Down goes Waniewski!" This is the kind of no-holds-barred journalism this town has needed for years, whether in print, on TV or, as we shall have it, on the Web. This online newpaper is going to become the sun in Toledo's solar system of local news. Starling said she's so excited that she's wet herself. Anticipation doesn't get any better than that.

Well Lisa...your correct! Stephen Ward is one of the people involved in the new online paper coming on March 31st. However, there are many more people involved as well.
But you will have to wait until the 31st to view the paper and find out the rest.
Also, you didn't have to look to far to find his phone number etc., he has done alot in Toledo and has always made himself accessible.
But for those who don't know...I figure I would also enlighten them...

It's public information, as you demonstrated, it's pretty darn easy to find. It's not as if I had to play super detective and I did it to end the curiousity of who was involved in the paper as opposed to any deeper ulterior motive.
If Stephen did not want his connection to the paper known he would not have sent out an email to lots of people announcing it...Even without the "who is" it's pretty easy to make the logical conclusion.
I'm a fact based person, research is what I do, but at least now you also know how to do a "who is".

It's the retaliation I have a big problem with, and to me, what Nick did crossed the line.
Not that I had any respect for Nick and Steve and others anyway, but this is the mentality of stupidity and selfishness one has to endure when you're "doing the right thing".
Full disclosure instead of this drawn out pathetic PR stunt would have garnered more of an interest on my part.
But all Nick did was ensure that my IP address will never darken his website's door.
I don't hide who I am either, if I was really that worried about it I'd pay for the registry information to be private. It's actually how the Nazi's found my home number and harrassed me. Legally if you want a domain you have to list your personal information and it has to be correct even if you pay the additional fees for the privacy registry.
That's why the "who is" registry exists, so that if you are ever curious about who owns a domain it's easy to find unless they for some reason want to not list it.
So, while my personal information really isn't germane to the topic since I'm not the one who's stated is putting out a new newspaper? Yep, that's me and I'm pretty darn proud of who I am.

He's posted on my blog before and if I really had anything to hide I'd pay the extra money for the privacy registry. It shows I stand behind what I do...
