The critical swing state of Ohio didn’t benefit from the home field advantage in a new study that looked at the election processes in five upper Midwest states – Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Election power in Ohio is centralized in some respects and entirely disorganized in others. Another co-author, Edward B. Foley, notes that 10 percent of provisional ballots from Toledo-area residents were rejected because of voter registration problems. In the Columbus region, 3 percent were thrown out.

I like the discussion about Minnesota being the highest state for voter turnout. THey take pride in their civic responsibilities.

I also like the idea of EDR "Election Day Registration"'s for first time voters.
