Toledo officials have been courting a Middle
Eastern nation to invest in the city as part of its economic
development efforts, Mayor Carty Finkbeiner said yesterday.

The mayor declined to identify the nation when asked after a
presentation he hosted yesterday regarding regional economic
development.

Mr. Finkbeiner showed a list of 101 companies he said have contacted his economic development team.

"Steve Weathers, chief executive of the Regional Growth Partnership,
announced that a Dallas-based trade magazine has named Toledo the No. 3
city in the nation that showed the greatest growth in automotive
manufacturing."

Also during his presentation, Mr. Finkbeiner plugged the city's foray into the alternative energy industry.

"We are one of six solar energy capitals in the world. … It is
projected that there will be 3 million jobs in that economy over the
next 20 years," he said.

"We are also working hard and vigorously to provide jobs for Toledoans today."

More carryouts.

yippee.

So WHY would the Mayor need to keep the identity of this middle eastern country a secret?

If the idea of the Mayor of Toledo courting a middle eastern country that he doesn't want to name doesn't send a violent shudder down your back - why then you have no sense of self preservation.............heaven help us. This is the SAME guy who wanted to move all the deaf people by the airport.......

the "S" stood for in "Carleton S. Finkbeiner" ?

Carleton Saddem Finkbeiner.

dosen't want Maumee, Perrysburg, Rossford or Oregon to steal this country away!
