Hmmm....might be some money to be made by non-drinkers-just hang out around bars and get somebodie's car started for them at a nominal fee. Crackheads would love it. Law of unintended consequences and all that.
Gonna be a bumpy ride, this slippery slope the nanny's have started.
... about the "black boxes" in your late model vehicles that record the last few seconds of your car's status and motion right before an accident? These black boxes have been subpeonaed and used against their owners in court. If you've a car of 1996 vintage or later, you probably have one under your hood.
Other than that, an ignition-interlock system can probably be bypassed with some investigation, wire snippers, and a switch or special cheap circuit that you can buy from a firm in Hong Kong. Ask the game-console and cable-box modders; they know all about how that particular override methodology works.
Although such a system is a slippery slope, I'm not too troubled at how I will handle one of them in my auto. Snip snip, clip clip, and then I'm back to driving as I've always done: soberly and without bother from law enforcement.
This is old news. When MSM carried the story in November of 2006, there was a splash along with a few ripples, and that
This campaign was started by the MADD folks, who are about as fascist a group of militants as they can be and who won't be satisfied until they have eliminated alcohol (and smoking) altogether. All this is neo-prohibition. They failed during the "Great National Experiment" during 1919 through 1931 and now are just trying to achieve their ends through other means. They just turn otherwise law-abiding citizens into criminals and breed contempt for the law.
I'm proud to be a member of DAMM (Drunks Against Mad Mothers). Here's how!
And, unfortunately, a LONG one. In some ways, I look forward to Hillary and Bill getting in again. We might as well have full-blown neo-communism. I'd rather the country die a swift death than one of a thousand cuts.

is now owned and operated, for all basic purposes, by RWJF (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, their biggest funder), alias Johnson & Johnson, maker of nicotine products and many other fine drugs. You know, the same folks behind most of the smoker bans-my, what a coincidence.

I did not know this, but it makes sense. Somebody is making money from these repressive laws.
